Description

Hello!

I’m moving out of my lovely flat-share in Brixton - and looking for someone to fill my room in mid-July (from 10th July).

It’s a beautiful period house very close to Brockwell Park. We are tucked away on a suburban side street, off of the main road - so it’s very peaceful and quiet, and feels very safe, which is lovely.

Yet, it’s also super well-connected, and the location couldn’t be more ideal:
- 10 min walk from Brixton station
- 15 mins to the rail station at Herne Hill
- Less than 5 min walk from the entrance to Brockwell Park - dreamy for lunch break walks while WFH.
- 10 mins to the lido door to door (so perfect for any keen outdoor swimmers!)
- 2 mins to the big Sainsbury’s
- Plus, there are two fun bars minutes away: Hootananny and Effra Social (but we’re far enough away that you don’t hear any noise).
- Minutes from the bus stops at Morval road, which take you to tonnes of places.

The house itself is very spacious, well-designed, and has a lot of character. We have a large living room, with comfy sofas, where you can watch TV. Plus, there is a massive open plan kitchen, with a well-sized dining table.

One of the best parts about the house is the garden! It’s a leafy green paradise, that is maintained by gardeners every few months. We have cute decking that you can sunbathe or do yoga on, enjoy a morning coffee at the table and chairs, or a glass of wine at night under the fairy lights. Now and then, we also have garden parties - including pre-drinks for Mighty Hoopla every year! - and it’s a great space for this.

There is one main bathroom that is shared between three people, which also has a bath in it, if you’re a bath person!

The room itself is small but cosy: with a double bed, chest of drawers, and floor to ceiling shelves on one side - which is amazing for storage. The window is huge, and it gets a lot of light in it, so still feels bright and airy. (And although the room isn’t very big, I found that there was a lot of scope to make it my own still / and the rest of the house has big communal spaces which make up for it). There is also an additional wardrobe that you can use in the corridor, for clothes or other storage.

You would be sharing with three other lovely housemates in their 30s. Fernando works for the UN - he loves going to voguing classes and enjoys a glass of wine in the garden! Andy is a content designer, who also enjoys voguing, as well as performing cabaret. Jovi works in sales, and is a big festival goer, who always has amazing restaurant recs! We enjoy the odd flat dinner, netflix session and garden drinks together.

We are looking for someone who is also a young professional of a similar age. Must be LGBTQ+ friendly! And someone who is looking for somewhere which feels like a home, too. It’s best suited to someone who doesn’t need to wfh.

It’s great value, at only £655 for the room - plus bills on top (which have been varied due to the cost of living crisis, but at the moment are about £150). The deposit is £756. And you also would need to pay a £50 name change fee to the estate agents.

We will be doing viewings in the next week, so please message if you think you’d be a good fit :)

Cheers!
-Hannah
