Hi! I'm Ed, I’m looking for a lodger or couple to live in my house from November until June/July while I am away travelling – as a result the whole house will be yours for almost all of the time!
The house is worth around £2500 a month (without bills) on the open market, so this is a really great discount. All bills are included except broadband.
In return, I ask that:
- I am able to stay in the guest room occasionally when in London e. g. when flying in and out of the UK (no more than 20 days in total, and likely much fewer), with suitable advance notice.
- You are a respectful custodian of the house, treating it as you would like someone to treat your own home. This includes not doing anything that will annoy the neighbours like playing loud music.
- You are happy to keep my plants alive and watered!
The house itself is great – I’ve recently renovated it, and I particularly love the living room with the double doors out into the garden which gets the sun in the mornings, real garden room vibes which is very rare in Zone 2! Upstairs there is the main bedroom (which would be your room), then an office/guest room at the back, with a sofa bed. There are two bathrooms, and loads of storage space.
It’s located in the Blenheim Gardens Estate, which besides being a really cool example of late 60s/early 70s public housing is set back from any roads so is super quiet and peaceful. It’s a 15-minute walk (or less than 5-minute bus) down to Brixton, and a 5-minute cycle to both Clapham Common and Brockwell Park (for lido trips!). There is a new oven, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus TV, PS4, and electric piano.
About me, I'm a young professional taking a very exciting career break for 9 months, hence looking for someone to live in my place. I’ll be off pursuing my passion for freediving, and travelling to South America – I feel very lucky to be able to do so! I’m easy-going and respectful, love sports, the outdoors and reading. I can be a bit flexible on moving in/out dates for the right lodger.
