Bright, furnished double room available for single occupancy in a clean, modern flat on Brixton Hill / SW2.

The room has good natural light and comes fully furnished with a double bed, large wardrobe, desk, chair, bedside drawers, and additional storage. It would suit a postgraduate or PhD student, or a young professional looking for a comfortable, calm, and well-connected place to live.

You would be sharing the flat with me. I’m originally from Turkey and have been living in London for the past three years. I’m currently doing a PhD in clinical psychology research at King’s College London. I’m easy-going and like to keep the flat clean, calm, and comfortable.

I’m happy to socialise, have a drink or chat, and occasionally go out together, but I’m equally comfortable keeping things more independent and functional as a flatshare—whichever feels natural. The main thing for me is living with someone respectful, tidy, considerate, and reliable.

My current flatmate is moving out because he has found accommodation where he will not need to pay rent, rather than because of any issue with the flat or our living arrangement. I would also be happy to put you in touch with him if you would like to ask independently what it has been like living in the flat and sharing with me.

Transport is very convenient. There is a bus stop directly in front of the building, less than a minute’s walk away, with frequent buses to Brixton Underground Station and Clapham. Buses to Brixton run very regularly and usually reach the station in around five minutes, depending on traffic.

Rent: £1,000 pcm

Bills are split equally. Approximate bills per person are:

*Electricity and gas: around £30–£45 per month in summer and £50–£65 per month in winter, depending on heating use
* Internet: £14 per month
* Water: £30 per month

Bills are therefore usually around £75–£90 per month in summer and £95–£110 per month in winter, excluding Council Tax where applicable.

Council Tax: The flat is currently exempt because both occupants are full-time PhD students. If you are also a full-time student, the property should remain exempt. If you are not a student, Council Tax will apply, and I can confirm the property band and approximate amount before anything is agreed.
