Hey hey, my housemate is moving out, but I really love this flat & location, so looking for someone to replace him. 🙂
About myself:
I'm 29 and work as a software engineer, I'm into art, film, cycling, bouldering and lefty politics. I'm reasonably sociable, so it's important to me to actually get on with my housemate - not just coexist. I'm also gay, so this would probably be particularly suitable for someone identifying as broadly queer!
I work from the office around 4 days a week, wfh friendly though.
The flat:
The flat sits halfway between Brixton and Herne Hill, with both stations around a 10–15 minute walk away. This gives easy access to the Victoria line as well as National Rail services (Thameslink and Southeastern).
The flat is set back from the main road and backs onto Brockwell Park, so it’s calm and quiet, and there’s secure indoor bike storage. On-street parking is available for approx. £25 per month (depending on the type of car).
You’ll be close to some great local spots including Hootananny and Effra Social, as well as favourites like Herne Hill Sunday Market and The Florence. A large Sainsbury’s is just a short stroll away, with M&S, Tesco and Lidl also nearby.
My current flatmate is moving out of the smaller double (£900). I've also listed my room (£1,050) as an option in case someone prefers the larger room—in that case I'd happily move into the smaller one. So there's flexibility depending on what suits us both best. As we'd be renting the whole property together, there's some flexibility in how we split the rent if we'd prefer a different arrangement.
The rooms are partially furnished. The larger room comes with a bed and wardrobe, all of which can be removed if you’d prefer to bring your own furniture. The smaller room comes with a wardrobe.
Bills (water, energy, broadband and council tax) vary and are not included but are approx. £180-200 per month.
I've set the move in date as Aug 10 but there's lots of flexibility - 3rd of August at the earliest, Sept 12 at the latest.
NB. Most of the current furniture in the shared spaces belongs to my housemate and will be leaving with him. I'll be replacing it with a dining table and other essentials before or shortly after the move-in date, so the shared spaces will remain fully functional.
Bonus:
Residents can enter the Brockwell Live residents’ raffle for free tickets to events such as Mighty Hoopla, Field Day and Across The Tracks.
