Furnished Double Room in 2 Bed Flatshare

Hello, I am Chi.

I have been renting a lovely 2-bed-flat in Brockley opposite Hilly Fields Park for years. My housemate/friend bought her own flat and will be moving on, so I am looking for a new housemate to join me from 1 June.

You would have the master bedroom of the flat overlooking the garden. We would share the kitchen and bathroom together. The whole flat overlooks our amazing, spacious communal garden and has a very peaceful feel. In the Summer the flat is very airy and in the Winter our strong central heating makes it cosy warm. I love waking up hearing the birds in the garden. I also love living right opposite Hilly Fields Park. It has a cafe, tennis courts and park run each Saturday.

The landlord is amazing. He is very quick with fixing anything around the flat/building, and was kind to confirm that he is happy for me to sublet a room in the flat I rent. There is a friendly community among the neighbours in this building and we have enjoyed some lovely BBQ nights together in our garden. There is a car park for the building, but also free parking along the street.

Brockley is a safe area with lots of families and schools in the neighbourhood. I have always felt very safe walking around alone at night.

The room is primarily for long term sublet, but Mondays – Fridays let for a reduced fee can also be considered if preferred.

BEDROOM INFO:

• The room comes furnished with a double bed, sit to stand desk with a piano stool/chair (whichever you prefer), bedside drawer and 2 large wardrobes.
• Your rent for the room is £850 including bills.
• There will be a sublet agreement between you and me. It’s a 2-month fixed sublet contract and thereafter we’d be on a 1 month rolling contract.
• There will be an agreed deposit, which will be held in a Tenancy Deposit Scheme by the landlord.
• Excellent Transport links into central London. There are 5 train stations between 10 – 20 minutes walk away: Brockley, Ladywell, Crofton Park, St. John’s, Lewisham with direct links to London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Elephant & Castle, Blackfriars etc. The Ladywell – London train only takes 8 min!

ABOUT ME:

I am a pianist and piano teacher. I teach in a few London schools, but there are also some piano students coming to the flat for lessons. This happens on a few days between Mondays - Fridays, but I always finish at 7:30.

If you are interested to sublet, it would be great for you to come stay for a few weekdays when piano lessons happen. Then you can see whether this works for you.

I love spending time in my London church, where I am usually twice a week for Sunday service and midweek bible studies. I also like cooking, meeting friends, board games, going on hikes and I recently did a scuba diving license, so I'll be keen to explore the underwater world on my travels!
