I am letting out my recently renovated, architect-designed two-bedroom flat, located in Brockley, southeast London.
Set on the ground floor of a Victorian house, the flat blends period charm with a bright, airy modern extension, which opens directly onto a landscaped private garden – a rare city treat.
Inside you will find:
- A spacious, light-filled living area with fully-equipped kitchen
- Two bedrooms
- A dedicated workspace
- A contemporary bathroom
- A large private garden
- A second private courtyard
- Fast fibre-optic Wifi
There is also a friendly resident cat in our building, staying with our upstairs neighbours, who might be interested in coming to say hello from time to time. There're no care responsibilities, but if you dislike cats, or are allergic to them, this probably isn't for you.
The flat is on a residential street and makes a peaceful base to explore London south of the river, but it also offers excellent transport links to Central London:
- Crofton Park station (Zone 3) is only a 3-min walk from the house and has direct trains to Blackfriars (20 min) and peak-hour trains to Farringdon/St Pancras. From Farringdon, it's very easy to transfer to Elizabeth line, which means nearly everywhere in central London is about 45 min door to door.
- Ladywell station (Zone 3) is a 10-min walk and has fast trains to London Bridge (10 min) and Charing Cross (20 min).
- Brockley Overground station (Zone 2) is a 15-min walk with Overground/Windrush line trains to Canada Water/Shoreditch/Islington.
Brockley itself is a lovely area to explore. Three beautiful parks (Hilly Fields, Blythe Hill, and Ladywell Fields) are just minutes away. Our favourite is a Victorian Brockley cemetery, which is an oasis of calm in the busy city, just around the corner. There are also excellent specialty cafés (Dreamstory, Good as Gold, Browns), local pubs and bars (Joyce, Jerome's wine bar) and brunch places all within a 5-min walk. A Saturday Brockley food market is also within a walking distance.
You are also very close to some of south London's best areas:
- Peckham with all its hip restaurants, cafes and artsy scene - 10 min by bike
- Greenwich and Blackheath with all its rich history and wonderful green spaces - 15 min by bike
- Dulwich with the lovely Dulwich Park and the Picture Gallery - 15 min by bike
