Description
I have a sunny, warm, 2-bedroom flat in southeast London available for a 2-month sublet, possibly longer. Pandemic willing, I expect to return in the summer, likely June or July. If we both want you to stay through and past my 1 or 2 month sojourn, an even long-term let is possible.
I'm looking for a mature, long-term, non-smoking renter who will look after things when I'm away from London.
The flat is a first floor, 2 double-bed flat. It is light (high-ceilings!), bright, warm, and fully furnished, on a leafy street in a really fabulous community. It is carpeted, and the east wall of the bedrooms have large windows; perfect to watch the sun rise and the moon set. In addition to a double bed, each room has a wardrobe, bureau, desk and chair, a TV, and a bookshelf.
There is free, fast (Virgin) wifi, and a lovely big kitchen with a gas stove, plus a bar table so you have the option of eating in the kitchen or the lounge dining area. The bathroom has a full-size tub (with, of course, a shower), and there's a separate toilet, convenient for sharing. There is also a communal garden, and plenty of free on-street parking. However, no pets allowed, I'm afraid.
The flat is 5 minutes from the very fast and frequent Overground from Brockley Station that takes you to Canada Water in about 20 minutes, where you pick up the Jubilee line to get to Green Park in 1/2 an hour total. There is also a Southern Rail train that gets you to London Bridge in two stops (~15 min). For those affiliated with Goldsmith's, it is a five- to ten-minute walk to the back gate of the College.
There are lots of very good cafes and restaurants nearby, including a natural food shop and the unique social enterprise, the Hill Station Cafe (google it!). This is a trendy, up-and-coming part of London and very culturally diverse. Just 20 minutes from Greenwich, Peckham, or Nunhead Cemetary, the area is well worth exploring. And have I mentioned that the community here is great?? Very active, creative and artsy with lots of local events, all sourced from the very talented, community-minded inhabitants.
You'll pay first and last month's rent, and a security deposit. However, utilities (gas & electric), TV licence, and wifi, services and council tax are all included.
If you are considerate, quiet, and mature, understand and can work with chemical sensitivities (I am) and don't drink more than a glass of alcohol a night typically, let's chat!
