# About Us
Hey, I'm Kipp and I live here with my girlfriend Gosia. We bought this flat together (completing in March 2025) after I'd been renting here for years. We're in love with the place – so much light, so much space, and we still wake up in disbelief at how special it is.
We're a chill couple who've been together for 4 years and lived together for 3. I work from home 4 days a week (office on Tuesdays), Gosia does the same (office on Wednesdays). I'm into a bit of everything hobby-wise, while Gosia is dedicated to Brazilian partner dance – we both love to dance and will be first on our feet most occasions.
# The Room
You'll get the master bedroom – yes, we're big fans of the second bedroom which doubles as our office, so we're staying there! Your room includes:
* King-sized bed with brand new mattress
* Desk for working from home
* Sofa
* 4.5 fitted wardrobes (yes, it's mad!)
* External monitor available
* Individual programmable heater
* Direct access to private section of the NE-facing balcony with water and park views (no weir noise from your bedroom)
# Your Facilities
* Ensuite with shower and basin, plus a separate toilet cubicle with lockable door
* Your own under-counter fridge in the kitchen (we ended up with two)
* Well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and espresso machine
* 1Gbps broadband
* Surrounded by 40-something plants in the shared spaces, indoors and out
* Private parking space available below the building at no extra charge if needed. For bicycle storage, there's a bike rack in the garage, but if there's no space or your bike is particularly valuable we can look at getting a secure bicycle locker. We keep our bicycles in the hall but there is no more space there.
Bills Included in Rent:
All bills are included in your rent – council tax, water, electricity, and broadband. The flat is all-electric (no gas), including heating and hot water, so everything's covered.
# Living Together
We've always had someone in the master bedroom over the years, so we're experienced sharers. We have our own bathroom and storage space so won't need to use yours.
You're welcome to work from home – the internet is lightning fast. The TV stays under a blanket (unconventional but game changing!) and we only watch it a couple times a week on average.
Occasionally we'll have friends or family sleeping in the living room.
Communication: We're good at communicating discomfort with each other – if something's not working or makes us uncomfortable, we talk about it rather than letting it build up. We'd really appreciate the same approach from you. It's much better to talk something through and try to reach an agreement than to sit and dwell on it.
Cleaning: We'd like you to keep on top of cleaning your room and bathroom so dirt doesn't build up, and to clean up after yourself in shared areas. We have a pretty good routine for the shared spaces – a robovacuum keeps the floors sorted and we're fairly good at wiping down the kitchen. We're not perfect though, and we don't expect you to be either – we all have difficult or busy periods!
# Location Perks
Transport: Bromley-by-Bow tube station (Zone 2/3) is 10min walk away with Hammersmith & City and District lines. Two stops to Mile End for the Central line. One stop to West Ham for the Jubilee line. Lime bikes and Santander bikes usually within 10min walk. Stratford station is 25min walk with Elizabeth line, National Rail, Overground and DLR. Devons Road DLR is 15min walk.
Supermarket: Next door is the enormous Tesco Bromley-by-Bow. It has everything from the mundane to the wild and wacky – enter at your own risk, you might spend more than intended!
Building: There's a communal waterside terrace with seating and a BBQ.
Fitness: Two gyms within 10min walk – one cheap and functional, the other is Marchon (premium end). I can get you a 21-day free trial through my membership. Stratford Padel centre is 15min walk away. The London Aquatics Centre with its Olympic-sized indoor pool is 25min walk.
Culture: From the hall (our best winter-sun spot) we're looking over the House Mill, which Wikipedia claims is the largest tidal mill in the world – it's now a museum. Sadler's Wells East Theatre is 30min walk (10min cycle). V&A Storehouse is 40min walk (10min cycle). V&A East museum opening in April 2026 is 30min walk (10min cycle).
Social: Nearest pub is the Print House – their heated outdoor nooks have good buzz on Friday evenings. More often we jump on Lime bikes and ride across Olympic Park into Hackney Wick.
Shopping: Westfield Stratford City is 25min walk – the largest urban shopping centre in the UK by land area.
The Setting: We're surrounded by water. You can spot the tide height from your balcony, and from the big balcony you can see the weir – if you're geeky like me you'll enjoy watching the weir sound disappear when it rises. From your own balcony you have water and park views with plenty of birdwatching opportunities: herons, egrets, geese, ducks, gulls, cormorants and more.
Listing photos were taken on November 2nd. We have more photos to share, let us know if you'd like to see them! Spareroom only allows 9. Please get in touch if you have any questions or want to come and view the place.
