Description
**Viewings from Sunday 25 - Wednesday 30th January** - We can accommodate other times/facetime viewings if necessary so please still get in touch if you can't make it then.
We have a room to rent in a beautiful cottage on the canal in Bromley-by-Bow. It’s available from 1st February and comes with a double bed and wardrobe. It’s £850 + bills. With bills included it’s around £990 and that covers everything even down to cleaning products + loo roll!
The house has a huge communal living area with a pretty fireplace, dining area, and bookcases covering one wall - theres plenty of room for more books! Working from home here is ideal as we’ve got so much space for us to use! As this is the smallest room it comes with space for a desk downstairs near the window. The kitchen is lovely, with a dishwasher, fridge freezer and induction cooker. There is an upstairs bathroom with a shower over a clawfoot bath and the bathroom is pretty big. There is also a downstairs toilet. The house has a garden, which is almost unheard of for this area, and because we are on the lock, we have canal on both sides. It even comes with an allotement which we've been loving to grow veg in! In the summer there are loads of little birds flying around. It really doesn’t feel like you’re in Zone 2 central London... The reflection from the water makes the house light. There’s bike storage plus a huge loft if you need to store stuff. A 5 min walk down the canal we also have a big Tesco, which has absolutely everything you could need!
The closest tube is an 8 min walk to Bromley-by-Bow (Zone 2) and is on the District / Hammersmith and City line but in one stop connects with the Jubilee, Overground and DLR at West Ham. We’re also a 10 minute walk to Devons Road DLR which takes you to Canary Wharf in 15 mins. Walking, you can go down the canal either way to Canary Wharf, or Stratford. Also a 15 min walk to Bow Road bus stop, with buses directly into central and also to Stansted Airport in 45 mins. Basically a great spot to get you wherever you need to go!
I'm sadly leaving the house as I’m moving in with my partner, but I’ve been living here for 2 and a half years and I love it so so so much! The two flatmates still in the house are Callum and Perseus. Callum works in production for a VFX company. Perseus is an Irish costumer designer. Callum loves spending time with his friends in East London, at the park or hunting for a deal in the car boot. He loves a night out every now and then but probably loves a night in even more. Perseus loves music and movies, a good trip to a museum. You can also find him at a carboot on a sunday or thrifting cool shit! We’re really friendly within the house but definitely value our own space as well. We’re a queer house so it goes without saying LGBT+ friendly (/preferred!)
We could house 1 cat but sadly no dogs 🐕
The landlords are a really nice family, super friendly + chill and we have a really good relationship with them, they’re a rarity in London! The house is on a rolling contract so whoever joins will be taking over my part that will start on February 1st, ideally, but happy to talk dates.
