Description
Hi there.
We’re looking for a woman to fill a large double room in a 5 bed Victorian house with one guy and one other woman lodger. We don't care how old you are - we've had students stay, and older people. You just have to be friendly.
The room really is large - 12 ft x 12ft (3.65 m), with a 9.5 ft (2.9 m) high ceiling.
It's a light, airy room, with a large sash window overlooking a garden view. Very quiet, with two large built-in wardrobes.
The king-sized bed is an ottoman, so can be lifted for plenty of extra storage space inside. The mattress is a new Eve, and all the bedding/pillows etc are also new.
There’s fast WiFi , a kitchen with standard mod-cons, plus a power-shower bathroom and a second toilet. There’s also a large back garden/patio to use. The sun grabs us here all day from spring through autumn – so it makes a great place for a sunny breakfast, summer barbecue or just to sit, chill out, read or get a tan.
All bills and WiFi are included, and the house is cleaned once a week.
I’m a 64 year-old writer (mainly of children's books). Living with me until October only is my sister Caron, 57, and my lovely lodger in the top room, Agata, from Poland, who works across the city. So from October there will only be the three of us in a large property - plenty of room to breathe.
It's an easy-going and chilled atmosphere here. This isn’t a party house – we tend to do our own thing – but we’re all friendly and relaxed, love good conversation (esp in the kitchen!). I'm more than happy to let you talk privately to Agata (who has been here for 2 years) to get the low-down on the place, so you have an honest feel for the vibe.
I’m sure you’ve checked out the general location already, but if you haven’t we’re bang opposite Camberwell Arts College, and ten minutes walk from Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye train stations. Several buses heading into the West End and City whisk you from the bottom of our road every few minutes.
One note: the living room tends to be my area. However, if you wish to entertain friends in there, have dinner etc, or watch a movie, just give me a little notice, and it's yours for the day/afternoon/evening - whatever you want.
Parking is available on the street; you just have to pay Southward council a fee.
If any of this sounds good to you get in touch. We’d love to meet you!
