Description
A room in our lovely four bedroom, three bathroom maisonette is available for renting. Not for short term rental unfortunately. Move in late July/beginning of August - please let us know when your ideal move in date would be.
FYI the landlord requires proof of right to rent and 3x annual rent in salary (or a guarantor if you don’t have that). So not worth applying if you don’t have that, as it will just get rejected.
*THE ROOM*
The room is a small but cosy double room on the ground floor. It comes complete with a three quarter bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, long mirror, shelves and a small desk. This room is not suited for someone who’ll be predominantly WFH as the room and desk are small.
*THE FLAT*
The flat is peaceful (not a party house) and well maintained and it's essential to us that we keep things clean and tidy. There are three bedrooms upstairs, two with ensuite, as well as a 'family' bathroom which only you and the other tenant without ensuite share. On the ground floor we have a spacious living/dining area and a functional kitchen, as well as this double bedroom.
The kitchen contains all the mod cons - speedy electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle, blender, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, and a large fridge freezer. The kitchen is compact but well designed allowing plenty of storage for each of us. No need to bring anything, as we have a lot (but of course can fit some bits e. g. your favourite mugs!).
We have a lovely balcony where we have attempted, with varying degrees of success, to grow some herbs and veggies over the years!
The closest station is Denmark Hill only about 5 minutes walk away. Likewise the centre of Camberwell is only 5 minutes the the other way and has loads of bus connections as well as some really great restaurants, pubs, shops, gyms etc. Peckham is about 10-15 minutes walk, and Brixton 10-15 mins on the bus.
*BILLS/COSTS*
The rent includes the hot water and heating as this comes from a communal system. The other monthly charges are:
Council Tax - £36.43
Water & 150mb superfast fibre internet - £29.78
Electricity is on a pre-payment meter so we take it in turns to top this up with £50 which lasts about 2 weeks. (so about £25 a month each). As a flat we use Splitwise to track that kind of communal expense and split any drinks or meals we get together.
*THE PEOPLE*
The best bit - us! You'll be living with:
Gaby - 30, child psychotherapy masters student and private tutor, love animals, music & traveling
Ethan - 28, works in parks - loves cooking, gardening, music and going to saunas
Eilis, 28 - works in comms/science, loves hanging out with friends, reading and music!
We're all friendly and do hang out in the lounge/kitchen for chats, watching films or playings games together, we all want to live in a nice environment that's more than just a flat. Likewise we are normally pretty busy and outgoing people with our own lives between work, sports, and social outings so the flat is often quite quiet.
*YOU*
We are looking for someone respectful and relaxed who is willing to treat the place as a home like we do, doing their fair share around the house to keep things clean and tidy.
Ideally, we want someone between 25-33. It's really important that we're not just a house of strangers and that we get along well and have shared expectations and standards :)
For viewings we can accommodate both physical and video viewings depending on needs/preference.
Any questions don't hesitate to get in touch. We probably won't respond to people without profile photos but otherwise, look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you! :)
All the best,
Gaby, Ethan & Eilis
