Description
We’re looking for a new flatmate to fill a big, sunny bedroom in our three-bed flat!
The room itself is pretty huge and has big windows overlooking a grassy area and a big tree! The room is mostly unfurnished. There is a built in cupboard/ wardrobe and a side table in the room but the bed and chest of drawers and other furniture will be going with the current tenant.
We have two living rooms (!) and two balconies (!) and are on the fourth floor so get nice views and sunsets. We’re less than 10 mins from Denmark Hill and Ruskin Park, and about 20 minutes from both Camberwell and Herne Hill, so the area is very well connected and quite green, too!
We are: Connie, I’m a woman and in my late 20s. I’m currently finishing my PhD and work from home most days. I like cycling and yoga and spend my days off visiting family or watching Murder, She Wrote.
And Alex: I'm a woman in my early 30s and I work from home as a therapist. I'm currently very into blues dancing, as well as enjoying everything cultural London has to offer. Connie has been living in the flat for about 6 months, while Alex has been here for two years!
We're looking for someone friendly and communicative who's looking for a flatshare that feels like a home. We love saying hello and catching up when we're all in the flat, and sometimes we'll get a pint or watch a movie together. We try and keep the flat pretty clean and tidy, and we aren't much of a party house (but definitely down for a housewarming when our new flatmate is moved in!). We've got two communal desk spaces we share between us for WFH, so if you do some WFH there's definitely space for that, as well as overspill in our bedrooms.
Oh, and we're a queer friendly flat! Alex is bi and non-monogamous, and we want the flat to feel relaxed and welcoming for everyone
A note on referencing: We're hoping that our new housemate will be able to get through the referencing process easily. If you're a student or not in full time employment it's possible you'll need a UK guarantor (earning £21k+ and full time employed). We're looking for someone who is ready to move ASAP but we can definitely be flexible on the dates for the right person.
Rent is £750/ month and bills are about £110-125 (we are lucky enough to have low energy rates still!). The landlord is good and generally responsive, and has let us haggle down rent increases etc.
Please get in touch if you’re interested and share a bit about yourself. We're doing viewings a couple of evenings a week and a couple of hours at the weekends too.
