Description
5-6 week sublet available in communal house-share over the period 13th December - 20th January. £160 a week (£700 a month.) Three week minimum stay.
The House
We’re located in leafy and quiet Camberwell, near Peckham Rye station, a short walk from the parks and high streets. Our flat is a quiet, comfortable space with a large living room, two bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen. Plus, we have a lovely biodiversity-rich garden, complete with a pond, bonfire pit, bike shed, greenhouse and even a trampoline by the beehives—all shared with the wider group who live in the other flats in the house.
The Room
A warm and cosy attic room with a double bed, desk and sofa bed. The sublet would suit someone who won't be coming with much stuff, though a chest of drawers can be made available for you to use.
The Flat
We try to live with community in mind, both within the house and outside. This includes things like activism, growing food, sharing art, or other ways of caring for each other and our environment. At home, there are a few systems that are an important part of this which the subletter will join:
- Shared Cooking Rota: We take turns cooking dinner (everyone cooks once, every week), so there’s fresh, nutritious food for everyone to enjoy almost every night. Our meals are vegan (though not all of us are), and we’re happy to cater to each other’s dietary needs. We also make an effort to sit down together for a meal at least once a week.
- Bulk: We reduce waste by sharing and stocking up on essentials like cleaning supplies, cooking oils, spices, and canned/dry goods.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: We share cleaning duties each week
- Monthly Flat Meetings: Once a month, we check in with each other, share ideas, and collaborate on projects that help make our home a better place.
- Quietness: Living as 6 people in an echoey flat in an old building, we try to make sure everyone has space to rest by keeping things quiet. Loud conversations, music, cooking etc. are encouraged during the daytime, but between about 10pm and 8am we try to be mindful of noise.
About Us and You
It is a 5 bedroom flat and we are 6 housemates, currently aged 28-40. We each bring our own interests and experiences, and are committed to fostering a positive, respectful, and inclusive home.
Accessibility
The flat is spread across the 2nd and 3rd floors of a larger house.
If you’re interested, please contact via message or mobile.
Viewings will take place on Sat 6 and Sunday 7th Dec.
