Description
Hi 👋🏼 and thanks for checking our Ad 😊 We’ve got a bright and airy double room overlooking the back garden in our lovely Camberwell Grove house. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a welcoming, calm home with comfort, space, and easy-going professional housemates. Imagine starting your morning with birdsong instead of buses.. yup, a London unicorn moment. 🦄
The Room
- A generous double bedroom for one person, finally, a London bedroom where you don’t have to shuffle sideways to get into bed!
- Beautiful sash window with leafy garden views and natural light all day long
- High ceilings, cosy carpet, central heating, and blackout blinds/curtains for the best sleep
- Huge built-in wardrobe with sensor lighting, plus two chests of drawers and an extra cupboard
- Desk, chair, and full-height bookshelf (because grown-ups deserve proper storage)
- Comfortable low double bed you can actually stretch out in
- Enough floor space for your Pilates/ yoga practice
The house:
- it’s a big, light and airy with real personality
- clean, calm, definitely a no drama household, friendly, grown up and happy 😊
-a homely feel, with personality and warmth
- with great central heating and ventilation in the summer
- all rooms have lovely big sash windows 🪟
- It is on a quiet road and has a lovely back garden 🌳
Dining/ lounge:
Round tulip dining table in the high-ceiling dining/living room with a great bay window overlooking the back garden and a couple of generous sofas to chill in and chat, or just chill.
Kitchen:
Big with lots of space to prepare your meals, there's an AGA cooker, 2 fridge/freezers, dishwasher, washing machine and the kitchen overlooks the back garden.
Bathroom:
You would share a bathroom with just 1 other - the bathroom is large with a bath/shower, basin and WC as well as underfloor heating, generous storage space and towel heater. There's a WC on the ground floor, too. And we have another bathroom.
Garden:
We have a great back garden with table and chairs, a front garden with storage space for 2 bikes and great front stoop steps for sitting out on a sunny day watching the world go by with a hot cup of coffee in your hands!
A lovely cleaner comes once a week for several hours and cleans the shared spaces, so there are no cleaning rotas to deal with, just emptying dishwashers and carrying out the odd recycling bin. So, it's really well-looked after home.
We're friendly, and chilled out people working in civil service, digital marketing and the coffee sector (not night shifts.)
We have a sweet dog, Jesse, who stays with us all the time and who is kept very clean and keeps herself to herself. Is very well-behaved and looked after at all times. (Is never left alone with lodgers.) She is a non-shedding Saluki Whippet Rescue who is 6 and a half.
Our interests include travelling, film, cycling, music (all sorts), art, comedy, world affairs, architecture, comedy, books, languages, graphic design and culture and life in London. And more.
We are open-minded, independent, people who hold kindness and non-judgmental values / live and let live approach and the house vibe is very much calm and positive. We have family and friends close by who we enjoy time with.
Camberwell Grove is a beautiful road with huge old trees and it’s a really friendly creative neighbourhood. We know all our neighbours and love the friendly vibe and good energy. It’s close to Peckham, East Dulwich and Brixton and loads of parks.
Transport links are:
Denmark Hill (4 mins) to Farringdon, Victoria and East London etc. and East Dulwich station (7 mins) has trains to London Bridge. Buses are the 40, 185 and 176 right to the end of our road and it's a well-serviced area in terms of shops and quick trips to Brixton, Peckham and Elephant and Castle.
Council Tax Band: G
A final note:
We know flat-hunting in London can feel like speed-dating with disappointment. So here’s the promise: we don’t ghost people, we don’t cancel viewings last minute, and what you see in the photos is exactly what you get. The happy surprise is that it’s actually as nice as it sounds.
If this feels like your kind of home, send us a message, we’d love to show you around 🌿✨
