Description

Hello,

Tl; dr
- Good sized double room (10'11 x 10'0)
- Furnished and can use attic for storage
- Nearest trains Denmark hill or Peckham Rye
- Great spot between fun of Camberwell and Peckham
- Victorian conversion flat with great view of skyline
- I work in politics and do a lot of music stuff outside of that
- Bill c£125/month on top

I've got a spare room in my flat on Shenley Road. It's a good sized double - 10'11 X 10'0 or 3.33m x 3.06m. The building is Victorian, and the flat is on the 2nd (top) floor. If you need more storage, there is plenty of space in my attic too which is easy access from a drop down ladder.

The bills would be c£125 on top of rent

The Room
It comes with a double bed, mattress, wheely bedside table and a lockable wardrobe with a drawer at the bottom. There is also a giant shelving unit along one of the walls which you could get some little baskets for if you wanted more cupboard-type things, as well as a mini set of shelves in the corner of the room. There is plenty of room for a desk or a chest of drawers at the foot of the bed.

The Flat
It's a 2 bed, with a kitchen/lounge and a shower room.

The kitchen/lounge is very bright and has a great view of Canary Wharf and (if you lean up against the window) The City if you're into that kind of thing (which I am). There is a TV and PS5 in the lounge which you'd be welcome to use. The dining chairs are on their way! (I moved in in March).

There is a sofabed in the lounge too if you have guests. We would agree on the frequency - maybe something like 1 weekend in 2 months, and I would do the same.

There is a big shower with a choice of showerheads (the big one above your head or a detachable one).

There is also an attic with an easy access drop down ladder. There is plenty of space up there so you'd be welcome to store a few boxes.

Location
The road itself is mercifully quiet. You have easy access from here to the heart of Camberwell or Peckham, both in 10-15 mins walk. There is a Sainsbury's local at the end of Shenley Road (3-4 mins walk) and a Londis (which has some coop food stuff) even closer (2 mins).

The end of Shenley road also hosts two excellent spots - Toad bakery (which has reassuring long queues every Saturday) and Cafe Mondo which does outrageously good sandwiches with similarly long weekend queues.

Transport
It's c10 mins walk to Denmark Hill (I can do it in 7 when I'm desperate) and 10-15 to Peckham Rye. There are also a shed load of buses that go from the end of the road (c5 mins away).

Me
I'm Jamie. Lived in London for much of the last 17 years but only recently moved to this particular part of town so enjoying that. I work in a think tank, doing policy research and making vain attempts to improve the bin fire. I work from the office Tues-Thurs typically. Looking for someone who also works from the office most of the week to save on those bills.

For fun, music runs through a lot of it. I'm in a couple of pop/rock choirs and a band, and festival/gig tickets are a primary vice of mine. I'm trying to build some momentum this summer with my distinctly average tennis. Enjoy bouldering, running and, if I'm lucky, surfing/skiing too. Happy to talk about politics, film, music, your next trip, LGBT life, nerdier pursuits, drive to survive-level-F1 and plenty more.

I'm out most nights a week. If I'm having down time you may find me on the PS5 (playing FF7 pt 2 currently, want to play BG3) watching TV (rewatching Stranger Things, late to the boat on Succession but started that now) or doing whatever else people do at home.

Let me know if anything isn't clear. If you're keen, let me know a bit about your work, interests etc.
