Description
We’re Tim, Lewis and Ed, long term friends from school in Somerset and Dorset. One of our housemates is moving out and we are looking for a lovely person to take his room. We’re queer friendly - Tim, the resident gay, would love some more female energy in the house so all types of people welcome!
The room itself is spacious and has lots of good natural light with two large windows on the top floor of the house. It also has an en-suite including a shower. The room comes part furnished with the desk, bed, and shelves on the wall, and there are also additional hanger rails just outside the door to the room for clothing overflow (shared with one housemate). Bedside table and chest of drawers available to buy from housemate that's moving out if needed. The landlord is also generally amenable to putting up shelves etc.
The house is spread across three floors, with a shared open-plan kitchen/living room. The kitchen has a fantastic counter top, a good amount of storage space, and is generally quite comfortable for a couple of people to cook in simultaneously — though we also sometimes like to cook together. However, there is neither a tumble dryer (but we do have a heated drying rack and washing lines in the summer) nor a dishwasher.
We have a large TV and sound system in the living room. It’s a really cosy space and works well for hosting people.
There is a garden at the back of the house where we store our bikes. We made some pallet furniture and enough chairs to host a large number of people out there, plus a table for eating outside in the summer. We also like gardening and growing food so if that’s your kind of thing then we’re always looking for fresh ideas.
The house is about 10-15 minutes’ walk away from Brixton, which is our closest tube station. It is also 1 minute away from Loughborough Junction station which can get you to central in less than 10 minutes, 10 minutes’ walk from Denmark Hill Station, and we are also well-connected by bus. We’re close to Camberwell, and right next to Ruskin Park which is delightful, runs lots of events through the summer, and has plenty of amenities such as tennis courts, football pitches, and a calisthenics gym.
