Description
We are looking for an individual to take over a double bed room with a private study space in a two-bedroom apartment (SE5) nestled between the vibrant neighbourhoods of Elephant and Castle and Camberwell.
About the room: The double bedroom features a double-size bed with ample storage and wardrobe space, as well as a private adjoining study room. Please note: Due to recent fire regulations, the furniture arrangement will not be as shown in the photographs. The double-size bed will have to be moved into the adjoining study, and the bedroom will have study furniture in it. Both the spaces are still included, despite the swapping around of furniture.
About the apartment: This charming, bright Georgian duplex is fully furnished and located between Elephant & Castle and Camberwell. The apartment is ready to move in with all furnishings, equipment, linen, etc.
The bathroom has a bathtub and a shower, as well as personal storage space and a washing machine. There's also an outdoor bike shed.
The house has a no living room, but does have a spacious kitchen with a four-seater dining table, and a small roof terrace.
Utility bills, including council tax, average around £130 per person per month.
Please note that the apartment is split-level, requiring you to navigate stairs to enter on the first floor, proceed to the second floor, and access the bathroom on an intermediate floor.
The space is a warmly inviting apartment located in the heart of a designated conservation area in Southwark Borough. It is a quiet road, a short walk from the bustle of London.
The apartment has easy access to the city centre - a 30-minute bus ride/20-minute bike ride to central London/15 minutes to Tower Bridge - and is 5 minutes' walk from Burgess Park. Our closest tube stations are Elephant and Castle, Oval, Kennington, and Denmark Hill.
There are multiple grocery stores within walking distance, such as Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrison’s, and Lidl. There are also a few libraries and a post office nearby.
About the current flatmates: The apartment is currently occupied by two male working professionals. They are friendly, love living a clean life, and respects others' privacy.
We are a pretty relaxed and quiet household. Everyone values their own privacy, while also occasionally hanging out to explore, play card/board games or cook together on weekends. It hasn’t been a party house, but we do have guests over and enjoy hosting from time to time.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for an individual who is tidy, respectful, and mindful of others’ privacy. We take really good care of the apartment and have a great, respectful relationship with our landlady, who has been considerate and very responsive to our needs. We often do our part in maintaining the house, whether it’s coordinating repairs or handling anything else that’s required. Since the apartment has wooden flooring and surfaces, it requires some special care and attention, such as keeping the rooms well-ventilated or being careful when placing hot appliances on the kitchen counter. We’d love to share the space with someone who treats the apartment as their home and takes responsibility for housekeeping and paying bills on time.
Maintaining cleanliness is important to us, especially in common spaces. No shoes inside the house, beyond the shoe rack, is a firm rule. We also follow a weekly rotating cleaning schedule to keep the house clean and comfortable for everyone.
Available to move in from 16 July onwards.
