Description
The house:
- The house is a 3 bed, 2 bath and in terms of vibe, is probably best described as a little cottage in zone 2!
- We are semi-detached and it really feels like its own little very homely house
- We have A LOT of shared living and entertaining space (a huge living room; a separate dining space; plus kitchen; and also a good size garden).
The room:
- The room available is cosy 3x3 room with a view of the garden. Comes with additional storage outside the room
- You'd be sharing your bathroom with one other person
- Price: £870 (bills not included)
- Bills generally come to no more than £100 per month. Council tax band E (between 4)
The area:
- The house is on one of the loveliest streets in Camberwell
- We are directly opposite the beautiful Myatt's Fields park which has tennis courts, a football pitch, basketball courts, wildflower meadows and a very fun gardening club.
- Camberwell itself is the best area in South London (in our opinion!), with a huge amount of local businesses and restaurants of basically any cuisine you can imagine, all very affordable
- We're also close by to bigger parks like Burgess, Kennington, Brockwell and Ruskin park
- Camberwell is nestled just between Brixton (20 mins walk South West) and Peckham (20 mins walk East) which are both great for a night out or shopping.
About us:
- We are a couple plus friend who all met at uni. We work in Renewable Energy, Consulting and Advertising. We're all sporty, musical and love hosting dinners, board game nights and the occasional party!
Travel:
- We're between a few different stations. Tube wise, we're 20 mins walk from either Oval (Northern line), Stockwell/Brixton (Northern & Victoria line) and 10 mins to the Thameslink station Loughborough junction. Denmark Hill is a 15-20 mins walk.
- The best way to travel from here is defo by bike! Then it's basically 20-25 mins cycle to anywhere central (City, Soho, Farringdon, Bermondsey etc.)
- Buses also go direct to the city, Victoria and the West End
Other fun perks:
- Arsenal household (but open to fans of all sports teams and none)
- There is lots of bookshelf space for any avid readers
- Our recycling bin (and the back of our house) was featured in the BBC's Amandaland series 2!!
- Oh, and did we mention we have use of our landlord's swimming pool? 😎
