Description
Spacious and light double room with private bathroom to rent in the heart of Camden. The flat went through a 3 month renovation in August 2024 so is sparkly new, pictures were taken last week (no flat-fishing here!) 😊
The room
The bedroom has large bay windows looking over a quiet courtyard with a comfy double bed, a desk, traditional Victorian fireplace feature and a double wardrobe. There is another large storage unit outside of the bedroom in the corridor as well as two high up spaces for stashing suitcases etc. The occupant will have exclusive use of a bathroom with a walk in shower and toilet.
The apartment
There is an open-plan kitchen and living area, with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer and all the kitchen appliances you could need. The living room has a comfy corner sofa and TV. It's a really light and airy space, big enough not to feel on top of each other.
The location
The apartment is located on a residential Camden street, just 6 minutes walk from Camden Town Underground, 4 mins from Camden Road, 12 mins to Kings X, 18 mins to Euston.
We have friendly neighbours that I know well, and the tree-lined street is very safe at all times of the day (I have been here 8 years and never once felt unsafe). There are so many beautiful green spaces on the doorstep, 2 minutes walk from the Regent’s canal, 15 minutes to Regent’s Park, Primrose Hill and Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross. You can also walk into Soho in 30 mins!
The flatmate - me
I am 33 years old and work with victims of domestic and sexual violence for my job (which I love!). I work from home 3 days a week. I am happiest when discussing world politics, walking on the Heath or lifting heavy weights. My partying days are sadly behind me and now I am a t-total early sleeper and riser who values more than anything self-care and peace.
I am an open minded and empathetic person who values transparent communication and always seeks to be fair and kind. I am extremely clean and tidy, no dishes or crumbs left in the sink in this household. I love to travel (spent a month in Rio in January!) and visit my parents regularly so there will be times you have the flat to yourself. I have a full social life and demanding workload that leaves me pretty drained so whilst I really want to get on with my housemate, I really value my own space.
Most importantly, I am not a weirdo who is going to ask you to Monzo me for a splash of my oat milk.
You
Someone who is independent with their own full life, who sees their home as a sanctuary and loves to also use the space for quiet and recharging. Ideally, someone who’s not full-time WFH so we’re not on top of each other! It is important that you are meticulously clean and tidy as I am someone who needs a clutter free environment to stay sane. It is such a minefield navigating the endless cycle of houseshares in London (cost of living eh) I would love a kind soul to co-exist with harmoniously and respectfully. Two people sharing a home will always bring up some adjustments but if both are committed to listening and communicating with consideration, there’s always a way to make it work for all :) Open minded to a student as long as our lifestyles match.
The contract will be 1 month rolling, I would love for someone to stay foreseeably (our lovely previous tenant I found on here stayed here for 3 years) but it’s important we both feel this is the right fit with some wiggle room. My very reasonable parents are our landlord, so you can know that any things that need to be fixed will be done straight away!
If you get in touch please be sure to send over some information on you, including an idea of:
-your interests/lifestyle/social life
-your working/studying arrangements
-your expectations/ what you value for a houseshare/mate
(sorry to make this like a dating profile but it’s so important to me that we both get the right fit!)
Thanks so much – look forward to hearing from you 😊
