Description
Me and my 13 years old son hosted people from all around the world on Airbnb and just within 2 months we achieved a superhost status with all 5-star reviews. A few of our guests became our personal friends. Unfortunately, things got very busy for us and we are unable to dedicate time to hosting anymore. Hence, we are looking for someone to share our lovely home with us on a more permanent basis.
The room is single size, it fits in a king size bed with a few shelfs and there is a wardrobe in the corridor outside the room and the bathroom next to it. A foldable table for your laptop can be provided too.
BUT you are not constrained to your room. We have a very welcoming atmosphere in our home and you will feel free to spend a lot of your time in common areas, to work or chill there. We had a few Airbnb guests, including couples, who stayed with us for over a week and they felt very comfortable to do just that.
In the living room there is a TV with an Amazon Fire stick. You can also use our electronic piano :). Btw, me and my son play violin too! And if you ask my son nicely, he will let you use his video game consoles )))
The house is located in a green neighbourhood with a park with ponds 1 min walk away, river Thames 5 mins walk, Surrey Dock and a sports centre 10 mins walk (which offers various water sports too). Near Canada Water tube station you can find a large Tesco, many bars and a few good pubs, even a rock climbing centre + other sports facilities! The house itself has a small front garden (garden chairs provided) where you can have a lunch or a drink on a warm night. The room gets a lot of natural light and feels cozy with nice views over the neighbourhood and Canary Wharf skyscrapers.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR a single person, preferably a female. We are looking for an extraverted person as we are extraverted ourselves. While we keep very busy with work and studying (I recently enrolled on a course at the University of Cambridge), we like getting to know people and hang out together with our guests. We are hoping that our new room mate will become our friend too so we maintain this cheery atmosphere in the house where everyone feels happy and fulfilled. Btw, we have plenty of board games and video games at home as well as musical instruments! And even a BBQ in the garden! You also must posses the following qualities:
- Clean and tidy up your own mess
- Keep your own room in a good condition with an understanding you are not the last person who would live here.
- Be respectful, honest and responsible, communicates things in a timely manner.
Due to the small size of the house, if you have any sleep problems and easily woken up by someone simply walking past your room, this house won't be a good fit for you. We always aim to go to sleep at around 10 pm on week days due to our schedule. However, sometimes we have large study assignments to complete and can be awake in the night. While we keep noise to minimum during night hours, a small level of noise (e g using a kettle or going to a bathroom) can be unavoidable. So you have to be OK with that. In return, we are chill with the same
You will have to undergo reference checks to confirm your identity - that's required by UK law. You will also need to prove that you can afford the rent. There will be a lodger agreement in place. Minimum stay is 2 months with a 2 weeks notice period.
When you message me about the room please INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
- Introduce yourself, what do you do for work or study, what do you like doing for leisure
- What time you usually wake up and go go sleep and your personality type (introvert or extravert)
- Why do you want to live in our house
