Description
Hi everyone! I have a lovely furnished double room with en suite in E14 coming available from the start of November.
I have been renting the two-bedroom flat for 4 years, but my flatmate is moving out shortly and I’m looking for someone laid back and friendly to move in. It’s likely that we will be asked by the landlord to sign a new lease, so this is for someone looking for somewhere long term (at least 12 months).
Rent: £1,050 p/m
Deposit: £925
Bills: Approx £150-170 p/m including water, electric, heating, council tax (band E), broadband and TV licence
The property:
It’s a modern two-bedroom first-floor flat with a bright, spacious living room/kitchen area and a sizeable balcony. You will have your own modern bathroom with a stand-alone shower, and the main bathroom has a bath as well. The bedroom is a good size with storage space under the bed as well as a couple of decent-sized cupboards in the hallway. We’re well-equipped with dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave and so on. I’d also be very happy and encouraging if you wanted to make the space feel like your own - I’m not precious!
The area:
We’re located in Zone 2, five minutes’ walk from South Quay DLR station, and less than ten minutes’ walk from the heart of Canary Wharf where you’ll also be on the Jubilee and Elizabeth lines, so we’re very well-connected. We have a Tesco Express and several independent shops within 5 minutes’ walk, a Waitrose, M&S and larger Tesco in Canary Wharf, and a big Asda 15 minutes’ walk or a short bus ride away. Plenty of local food options.
Me:
I’m 36 years old (he/him) originally from Belfast and have been living in London for 8 years now. I love pop, cocktails and dark comedies, and I’m a bit of a geek, but of the quizzes and board games variety, not necessarily gaming. I work for a PR agency in Holborn although I do work from home three days a week. If you wish to do the same, there is a desk in your room so plenty room for both of us. I have a fairly laid back existence here although I’ll have the occasional friend over for drinks at the weekend or a bite to eat on a weekday evening. Most of my friends are individuals or couples so it's very rare I'd have a larger group here. Will welcome someone with a similar sociable attitude although it's not a party house. If we end up leading fairly independent lives, I have no problem with that, but equally if you do want to hang out I’m all for that too, and I love cooking so will be happy to cook for us on occasion. No preference regarding age, gender, sexuality or background - as long as we gel reasonably well and you’re clean!
Accessibility:
The flat is in a small complex made up of nine properties, accessed by a gate that can be opened by key or fob. We are on the first floor, up 16 steps. No lift unfortunately. The communal space is outdoors but covered. We have an intercom.
The landlord doesn’t accept benefits and will require ID, proof of address and referencing and/or guarantors.
