Separate lounge, kitchen, terrace & garden
Rent £940, Bills £175
- The room:
South facing, bright and spacious double, fully furnished with built in wardrobe and desk.
- The house:
Period house with modernised interior set over three floors with sociable kitchen diner, separate generously sized reception, two bathrooms, separate washer dryers, double oven and built-in microwave. Eclectically decorated with natural wooden flooring and exposed brickwork. We also have an 80” projector for movie nights. The reception and kitchen are air conditioned. Outside is a 550sqft garden with a dining area.
Nestled in the Canonbury Conservation Area, home to Orson Welles, and more recently Emma Watson, Keira Knightley and Kit Harington. The perennially charming boutiques, restaurants and bars of Upper street and the Angel are close by. Further afield Dalston's more edgy bars and eateries are a 10-15 minute walk away. Shoreditch is a 7-10mins Uber away.
Canonbury station (Overground Line) is a 5min walk away, Highbury and Islington tube station (Victoria Line) is a 10mins walk if you're a sprightly walker, 12-15mins if you prefer a more leisurely amble. The 73, 476, 341, 56, 38, 30, 141 and 277 buses all stop within 1-2 minutes from the house.
These come together quite nicely, here are a few "from-shoes-on-to-destination" Google Maps journey times to:
Victoria - 26mins
Oxford Circus - 20mins
Holborn - 24mins
Canary Wharf - 35mins
Bikewise the house doesn’t have off-street bike storage but there is a locked bike hanger 30 metres away run by the local authorities which costs £108 per year.
- Us (the housemates):
Pierre & Lilly are Siberian cats fresh from the shimmering frozen plains of.. Siberia. At 2-3x the size of regular house cats they enjoy sunbathing as well as planning new ways to finally entrap their tails.
Eliza is a strategy manager in big tech, passionate about cats, dogs, fashion and getting her dashboards to run. She also has an encyclopedic knowledge of the finest hot chocolate establishments of London.
Eugenio is a physicist by training and currently leads a data science team at a large tech firm. Italian by birth but a long term Londoner. His passion for Italian wine has survived the grey weather and is a budding amateur sommelier. He also is an avid hiker and has recently found his stride running half marathons.
Donall - originally a Londoner, grew up in Spain, after a stint in strategy consulting and big tech now runs a small tech firm. Also a fan of running and fine dining, currently prepping for a first tri.
