Description
Our lovely flatmate is moving out in October as her visa is ending, so her room is up for grabs!
The room will be available from October 11th when we renew the contract for the year. It’s a cosy double upstairs with plenty of storage and natural light and the window overlooks neighbouring gardens out the back. It’s on the same level as the living room and bathroom (kitchen and other 2 bedrooms are on the 1st floor).
We will ask for a holding deposit of £400, which will be counted towards the main deposit later on.
You’ll be sharing the house with me (Sophia), Charlotte, plus my friendly cat Bodie ☺️
Being queer-friendly is a non-negotiable 💗
No students/couples (landlord request), no tories or men (flatmate request).
I’m a doctor in the NHS, so I work some long shifts, lots of weekends, and very occasionally cover night shifts too. But my rota is flexible as I’m currently a locum F3 (essentially freelance). I’ve lived here for 3 years now and love it too much to leave!
Charlotte moved here from Madrid a few months ago, works in Shoreditch 5 days a week, and we’ve become super close already, so we’re looking for someone who will mesh with us both to make the dream home!
We have a beautiful living room complete with stacks and stacks of books (welcome to borrow), plants, my electric piano collecting dust & a TV. The living room is a lovely communal space that gets heaps of natural light and is ideal for cosy chats, movie nights, dinner parties etc.
There’s 1 bathroom with a shower over the bath, we have a huge loft space for extra storage, as well as the cute patio out the back complete with cherry tree.
The kitchen is well equipped as well, with brand new oven and fridge/freezer recently replaced by the lovely landlady.
Bills come to ~120 each for gas & electricity, water, council tax (band E), wifi, and we also have Netflix/Mubi/BFI subscriptions for our movie nights.
Street parking is available with resident permit from Islington Council.
We’re in the absolute best location, with easy buses into central, Shoreditch, Old Street etc, 9 mins walk to Canonbury overground, Dalston about 12 mins walk & similar to Upper Street. Easy to get to Highbury & Islington for the Victoria line too!
A little about me -
I’m Sophia, a 27y/o bi woman (she/her) working as a medical doctor in East London. I’m interested in sexual & repro health, psych and social/cultural intersections. I also love learning languages (currently self-teaching Portuguese while trying to retain some Spanish), dim sum, finding hidden speakeasies and wholesome craft socials. I like getting out of my comfort zone and try to be a yes person (but you’ll never get me running).
Charlotte is a 31y/o French gal who loves art, painting, music, independent cinema, and has a slight (huge) obsession with coffee. She also really values kindness, openness and inclusivity.
As roomies, we love having movie nights and watching trash tv in equal measure, exploring the neighbourhood and queer events together, and usually have fresh flowers in the house to add to the homey feel.
We’re keen to make sure we find the right fit so would love to chat over coffee & answer your questions before making any decisions.
Look forward to meeting you ☺️
