Description
Hello! I'm renting out the guest room in my 2-bed flat. The price is £1,500 pcm (or £50/night prorated). This includes the rent, council tax, gas, electric, water, WiFi, and a bi-weekly cleaner.
The room is available from Dec 15. I'm looking for someone who would like to stay anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. I'm happy to do month-to-month and not fixed dates as well. It's most important to me to find a good fit.
The Flat
The place is really spacious with tons of character and natural light in every room. It is fully furnished, decorated, and stocked with everything you could possibly need: Alexa, Sonos, Washer/dryer, dishwasher, all kitchenware and tableware, bedding, linen, etc. The entrance to the flat is on the top floor (two flights of stairs) of a building with two other flats and a shop on the ground level. It's two levels. The lower level is the spare room and the shared bathroom. The upper level is my bedroom and the rest of the flat, so there is plenty of privacy.
The Location
It's on the main road exactly halfway (5-min walk) between the Chalk Farm tube station and the Belsize Park station. There are loads of shops and cafes on my block and three other high streets close by. Primrose Hill, Camden Market, and Regent's Canal are all within a 10-minute walk, and Hampstead Heath is 20 minutes away. It's a quiet neighbourhood (30s/40s+) just a short walk away from the action in Camden. It's truly one of the best locations in London IMO.
Me + You
I'm 38, from NYC, social worker and lawyer working for a pro bono law centre. I listen to a lot of podcasts and music, try to see comedy and theatre when I have the time, and binge watch pretty much any true crime or mystery TV series. I love blues music, the markets, and doing walks along the canal and through the parks often. I am trying my hardest to cook and exercise more...if you are great at either of those things please teach me your ways!
I am a very direct communicator, quite passionate and extroverted, particularly by British standards. Oh, and most importantly - I have a very sweet and affectionate little 11-year-old dog that will want to be your new best friend. You must be a dog lover, not a dog tolerator. We go on a walk to primrose hill every day, it would be great if you wanted to join us!
Ideally I'm looking for someone around my age with similar interests who I can share my home with - someone clean, communicative, and considerate of others who wants to be part of a household, not just a lodger. I wfh three days a week and rarely spend time alone in my room, and it's completely fine with me if you are the same. If you rarely wfh or like to spend time in your room, that's fine, too! The size and layout of the flat make it an easy space to share without feeling on top of each other.
One other thing I should mention is that this is really only suited for someone in London temporarily or going through a transition period - i. e. there is only room for you to bring a suitcase or two, not boxes of belongings.
If you are interested, please send me a message with a little bit about yourself, what you're doing in London, and the exact dates/ type of arrangement you are looking for. As I said before, I'm very flexible about terms if it feels like a good fit. Thanks!
