Description
About us:
We are a left wing home. Emile owns the maisonette house and is the landlord and is working in mental health as a peer coach and Erik is working from home as a trader. We have been friends and flat mates for over 10 years. We both identify with the LGBTQ+ community so we are looking for someone who respects this and is an ally, to share our home with.
We are looking for a professional, independent/self sufficient person. This is not a party house. This is a 3-bedroom house and we share the communal areas such as: living room, kitchen and bathroom. We respect and value each others personal space and routines, and we are looking for someone with similar way of living.
The house is 10 min walk from Chalk Farm underground, 10-15 min walk from Gospel Oak, Kentish Town West and Hampstead Heath overground stations.
2 min walk to nearest bus stop which take you into central London (Tottenham Court Rd and Soho) in 25 min.
Your room will be on the first floor and it is furnished. It has tiled flooring and two large windows (with blackout roller blinds) overlooking the back of the house and a sky window which lets in lots of natural light. It is a double room approx. 11 m², with a standard double bed. Bed is an ottoman so will have lots of space underneath for storage. Comes with brand new IKEA mattress, new topper and new mattress protector. There will be 4 pillows and both winter + summer duvet for you to borrow, but if you prefer your own beddings thats completely understandable and up for you to decide.
There is a 3 tier drawer, a wardrobe (with space above for storing luggage), desk with swivel chair, bookcase, full length mirror as well as a round mirror. The room also comes with a 40 inch Smart TV with most streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV etc.
There is also an oil filled radiator heater in your room, if you wish to use, and some drying racks and a dehumidifier for when drying laundry.
Good to know: your bedroom will be next to the bathroom with the shower (just to keep in mind if you’re very noise sensitive). We respect each others sleeping routines and normal sleeping hours are between 22:00/23:00 - 6:00/7:00 and usually no one will be using the shower or washing machine between these times.
The house is on first and second floor. Our neighbour lives on the ground floor. Entryway is a shared area with neighbour. You will have to be able to ascend a flight of stairs to enter the flat.
We have a normal sized washing machine but no dryer. There will be some drying racks and a dehumidifier in your room to borrow for drying. Otherwise there is a launderette 2 min away which is open Mon-Sun.
Also we don’t have a dish washer in the kitchen, we wash everything by hand after we cooked, and it has worked perfectly fine.
Rent excluding bills is £1000. Bills comes to approx. £150-175 a month (can slightly vary each month depending on electricity consumption) but covers council tax (tax band D), electricity, water, internet.
If this sounds like a home for you, don’t hesitate to send a message and get in touch. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
