This is an extremely large room with south-facing windows overlooking a leafy part of the Thames. I have loved living here for the last 2 years, but have to move for work. We are above the sedate, historic Steampacket pub on a beautiful tree lined street with an independent coffee truck just a minute's walk away.
There is a Sainsbury's local within 5 minutes walk, and a large Morrison's within 15. Kew Bridge station, with regular trains to Waterloo, is a 4 minute walk, while Gunnersbury station (district and overground lines) is a 15 minute walk away. The 237, 267, 110, N9, and 65 buses are all within a 5 minute walk as well.
The flat has 2 floors, with 2 bathrooms and a large kitchen with all the conveniences, including a dishwasher. Included in the rent is a cleaner who comes every other week, as well as broadband, and all utilities. This property has recently been refurbished and you would only be the second occupant of this room. The room comes furnished with a double bed and mattress, chest of drawers, and wardrobe, and I can leave you an adjustable desk and clothes rail if wanted.
The flatmates are quiet professional guys from the UK, South Africa, Egypt, and Spain who work in accounting, aeronautical engineering, finance, and restaurant management. There is a good balance between commuters and working from home, and everyone is friendly and considerate but respectful of personal space.
The landlord does have some stipulations:
- The new tenant must be in full time employment, and will be required to provide bank statements or equivalent proof of income.
- To reserve the room a deposit of 1 week's rent (£282) is required, which would then be credited to the first month's rent once complete.
- The new tenant will be required to make a one-off contribution to Council Tax of £150 upon signing of the contract, which is for 12 months. If you want to leave earlier, there is a self-replacement clause where you find someone new and can then break contract.
- The usual process of first and last month’s rent is payable once contracts are signed.
