Description
Hi all,
One of our housemates is sadly moving out after three years to buy a property, so we’re looking for a replacement. It’s a great room for a professional looking for a homely, sociable place to live.
The room is available around mid to late January, with date flexibility.
The house:
It’s a large, four-storey house with five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious kitchen/lounge, and a lovely little garden. Although there are five of us, it’s a quiet, respectful home, and it’s rare that we’re all in at the same time.
The property is managed by a private landlord who is responsive and easy to deal with.
Us:
We’re a friendly bunch of professionals in our early thirties. We enjoy sport, running, yoga, and keeping active. In winter we’re also partial to a cosy night in with a movie and takeaway; in summer you’ll often find us on the Common after work for a picnic. There’s usually someone up for a glass (or bottle) of wine after a stressful day at the office, and we’re looking for someone who will genuinely fit in. We’ve become close friends, but we of course have our own lives and friendship groups outside the house.
The room:
The room is on the second floor. It’s a huge, lovely, light space with plenty of room to work from home. It’s fully furnished with a king-size bed, two chests of drawers, two bedside tables, and two built-in wardrobes.
The location:
We’re just off Clapham High Street, within a 10-minute walk of Clapham Common and Clapham North tube stations, and Clapham High Street Overground. Rumour has it there’s a 1Rebel opening at the end of our road, and an M&S has just opened on Clapham High Street too!
Rent and bills:
Rent is £940 per month, paid on the 1st of the month.
Bills are around £170 per month each and cover gas, electricity, internet, council tax (band F), and a cleaner for the communal areas every fortnight.
The deposit is £874.
We like to keep the house tidy and have a cleaner fortnightly. We’re looking for someone laid-back, friendly, and considerate—someone who will see this as a home, not just a place to sleep. We’ve all lived here for a while, which hopefully shows how much we like it and what a great place it is to live.
Please get in touch if you think you’d be a good fit.
