The house is shared with Alex and Jake, a married couple in their late 30s. We use the home as both a living space and a flexible workspace, mostly around the kitchen-dining area. Our work can include design, writing, research, technical projects and learning new systems, so the downstairs setup may shift from time to time. We keep the home clean and practical, and we are happy to agree sensible boundaries so the space works well for everyone.
The ideal housemate would be a focused, independent professional with a steady weekday routine and their own life outside the house. The room is available seven days a week, but the home would especially suit someone who works from the office several days a week, keeps active, and wants a calm London base rather than a live/work setup. Occasional working from home is fine but this room is not suited to someone who works from home full-time.
The main thing is being clean, grounded, respectful of shared space, and comfortable living in an owner-occupied home with an established couple.
This is not a party house, but it is friendly, warm and conversational when people are around. It would suit someone independent, considerate and easy to live with.
The home has a shared kitchen-dining area with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a regular cleaner.
Water, internet and council tax are included. There is a fixed monthly household contribution of £150 covering electricity/gas and the cleaner, who cleans the whole property.
