Description
👋 Hiya friends!! Want to join a family-vibe home in Clapham Common? Sadly our beautiful housemate is moving, so we are two friends looking for a COUPLE from mid-Jan (dates flexible)!
😊 A little bit about our setup! We are:
• Friends, so communication is a priority, and we look out for each other
• Balanced: Having friends over and intermittent seshs encouraged, but we keep it quiet and respectful of early work starts during the week.
• Open-minded, and accessibility, BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ positive. We want everyone to feel comfortable and at home!
• Semi-communal: We enjoy hanging out, cooking for each other sometimes, and split house chores.
• The standard disclaimer: We respect each others’ privacy, alone time and personal space ofc
🏡 The house: SO SPACIOUS (we’re in awe of this in London too) within a safe and lovely gated community. It's so quiet with no outside noise. But, conveniently located SO CLOSE to Clapham High Street, just around the corner from Clapham Common tube station, Sainsburys, Common park etc. The house is over 4 floors meaning there is SO much space to spend alone time in. We have a lovely kitchen/ dining room and a separate living room for relaxing. There are balconies on every floor, and the entire rooftop is our own private rooftop! Our rooms are on the top floor so there is (as we keep saying) bountiful personal space and every room also has its own ensuite! We are fairly fresh here, so while it looks a little bare, we are so excited to decorate with you and make our house a proper home! Other bits such as kitchen utensils etc we have, but happy to make it work between whatever you may bring.
🛏️ Your room (Or rather, the entire ground floor): You will have the entire ground floor to yourself, which includes your BIG bedroom, own ensuite and own private courtyard (see floorplan and pics). The rooms comes furnished with a bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers, and an entire wall of cupboard storage space! Your ensuite is quite big too! The garage is also down here (other end and we don’t use it, so no noise) which would be yours to use.
👯♀️ The housemates (both Aussies):
• Em (she/ her, 29): Works 9-5 in Mental Health and Education. I love connecting with and learning from others. I’m often finding more things I can study/ read or starting new projects I never finish. I love spending weekends seeing mates, walking, photographing, cooking, or travelling
• Karly (she/ her, 29): Works 9-5 as a lawyer. Can often be found holding a large coffee that’s gone cold, or firmly stating that buying books and reading books are two entirely different hobbies (I have so many in my ‘to read’ pile that it’s a joke).
👀 About you: You're a communicative, easy-going, and caring couple in your mid 20s-mid 30s, working/ studying similar hours to us. You enjoy contributing and being friends within your home. You're house-trained, take pride in clean spaces and live sustainably where possible. You're LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC friendly.
📋 The boring bits:
• Rent: £1800 per month for the room (split between you as you prefer)
• Bond: £2250 (between the two of you)
• Available mid Jan (dates flexible)
• Looking for long-term housepals: You be expected to sign onto the lease (but lease transfers are available in our contract)
If this sounds like the place for you please DM me a lil bit about yourselves! We are very excited to meet you 😍
