Description
Hello!
I’m looking for a new housemate to join me and my friendly cat Suki in a light spacious modern two bed flat in Clapton, Hackney. The living room has two balconies with beautiful views over the canal and Hackney Marshes.
The room is officially available from the 19th of March but the move in date is flexible and can be earlier than this if needed.
Rent and Bills:
• The Room is £1000 per month NOT including bills
• Bills are £240 per month each including the cleaner who comes twice a month. I can provide a full breakdown. We might be able to hunt for a cheeper broadband which could bring them down.
Me:
I’m 43 and work as an Animal/Still Life Photographer, I also do ceramics as a side hustle at Turning Earth and work as a volunteer coordinator at the Hackney school of food. I often work from home in normal work hours.
I love many different genres of music, nature, making things, interiors, good food, Cafe Oto gigs, art house cinema, Supernormal festival, and cosy evenings with pals (party days are mostly over, but I love a good dance at someone else's house!).
I like to potter, exploring everything East London has to offer on my bike. I'm very social but I also appreciate my quiet time to recharge. I have lived in Hackney over 14 years and feel very at home in this area.
The room comes with a spacious bathroom that is mainly yours to use (I have my own shower so no morning shower clashes) but I use the bath sometimes in the main bathroom.
The flat is rented privately through Open Rent (I am not the landlord)
You:
I am looking for someone mature who wants to live somewhere that feels like a proper home, a cosy calm nest to relax in. You would be up for a chat and occasional wine/dinner together. I’d really like a warm, easy going, friendly human who is up for making friends rather than just sharing a flat.
LGBTQIA+ friendly
I am very clean and tidy 🧹 🧹😊 and I’m looking for the same, someone who appreciates a calm home with minimal clutter especially in shared areas.
Because I will occasionally be shooting in the flat (no more than twice a week) this might work best for someone who works at least part of the time in the office, or is comfortable working in their room when I have a shoot on.
Without wanting to sound like a crazy cat lady it’s very important that you love cats and animals in general, I want someone who will appreciate having Suki around and you might also encounter a cute dog in the flat when I am doing my animal portraits. I occasionally go away and I would like someone who is happy to feed my cat if you are home when I am away.
The Flat:
The whole of the flat is very well kept with beautiful natural light and is on the third floor accessible via a lift. There is a secure bike shed and space for a bike and a communal garden at the front by the river.
I have lived here for four years and have fully furnished the living room so this flat would work best for someone who only has furniture for their room. I don't have a TV but I am happy for you to bring one. The building has a great community vibe with friendly neighbours.
The bedroom is warm and bright with a huge window. It comes unfurnished except for curtains and a pretty vintage rattan wardrobe.
Transport, well connected:
• 10 minutes walk to Clapton Station
• 10 minutes walk to Lea Bridge (direct link to Stratford)
• 5 min cycle to Homerton Station
• Bus routes into central London on your doorstep
• 10 minute cycle to Stoke Newington, 15 mins cycle to London Fields (Lido!) and Victoria park
• Next to Millfields park and Hackney Marshes, surrounded by beautiful nature and only a short stroll to all the nice shops and restaurants on Chatsworth Road
The shared living Space:
Sitting on the third floor, one of the best bits about this flat are it’s two large balconies! One of them is very sunny, they both have lovely views over the canal and marshes and spectacular sunsets. It’s pretty special watching the canal boats slowly chug by and sometimes you get a friendly wave!
• Modern open plan kitchen living area, dishwasher, brand new washer dryer
• Spacious modern bathroom which will be predominantly yours as I have en suite shower room so there are no bathroom clashes in the morning.
• Secure indoor bike locker
• Lift access
Send me a message if you would like to view with a bit about yourself. Looking forward to meeting you! :)
