Description

Warning - I am the homeowner! But I hope to make that a positive for us both. I am returning to my beloved flat after years of working abroad, and the place is rather white and bare. Nothing wrong with that, but if you want to make the room more "yours", here are some ideas:
- You can choose the paint colour(s) for your room
- I have provided basic furnishings with the hope you will suggest what other items you will need/use
- I support you putting up pictures and affixing furniture, as long as you are diligent with Polyfilla/paint when they are removed.
- If you have a good eye for design, I am all ears for the rest of the flat too.
- Flexible contract on a monthly rolling basis. I have no particular end date in mind, so if we're getting along and you want to stay, we're good!

If you’re looking at the floor plan, the room for rent is the larger one, next to the bathroom. It is on the small side and my previous flatmate had a desk in there but it's up to you if you want to do the same.

The block was built in 2007, so it is well insulated and stays nice and warm. It is right on the park and next to the canal. Alas, our windows are largely street-facing, but you can view the park from the balcony! The balcony fits a 2-person bistro set with plenty of room to spare, I think four could sit comfortably. The flat is on the first floor and has a good size lift.

Location: 5 minute walk to Clapton Station Overground, 15 minute train to Liverpool Street. Too many buses to list! Overlooking the park and the canal, directly opposite the nature reserve, you can walk through to Hackney Marshes, Walthamstow and beyond.

About me/us:
My partner Carlos is away a lot, three months at a time, so you will only have one flatmate (me, Neeta) most of the time
We are both well-adjusted introverts who like video games and programming. Carlos is a DnD DM. Neeta is usually face-first in a book or the Switch.
Carlos is a game producer and I am a software engineer
I work from home and Carlos often does too, when he’s around. It would be ideal if you didn’t, or only wfh on occasion (the office setup is in the living room)
We are both naturally tidy people and we clean as we go, as well as a once-a-week clean. We love our robot vacuum and we’re happy to share him with you (if you want him to go into your room, just leave your door open).
Neeta suffers from post-viral fatigue, and so is low-energy on a cellular level.
We are both keen linguists - Carlos is native English (US)/Spanish and speaks Japanese as a second language. I am native British, with fluent German from having worked in Germany, and some (reasonably good) Spanish.

Our ideal housemate:
Is tidy and considerate
Doesn’t smoke
Doesn’t work from home (much)
Is friendly but happy to give (and receive!) privacy
Wants to play/cook and eat together from time to time (regularly or spontaneous)

Interested? We’d love to connect via WhatsApp so we can get to know each other. We’ll invite you to visit and you can decide if the place is a good fit for you.
