Room for rent in Clapton / Stoke Newington

I am looking for a new flat mate to join me in Clapton/Stoke Newington! You’d be joining on the lease which is currently month to month. Move in date is for mid-September (week of the 11th preferred) with some potential flexibility around this.

The flat: Two-bedroom flat in Clapton / Stoke Newington. You would be taking the second bedroom which is large and gets great light via the two bay windows. The flat has a very nice kitchen with a six-burner stove; one large, shared bathroom; an office / living room; and shared garden (all pictured). It is within walking distance both Clapton and Rectory Road overground stations (~ 10-minute walk); great bus connections via the 106 to Finsbury Park (1 minute walk) or greater London via 76, 236, 156 (~ 8-minute walk). Church Street, lower Clapton, Dalston, and Hackney are all within walking distance.

Flat mate: You’d be living with Cameron, a 28-year Canadian who’s been living in London for 1.5 years. I’m a doctorate student and work freelance in international development. I spend a lot of time doing sport, mainly swimming, biking, running, basketball, and yoga. I am also a former chef who cooks frequently (a plus!), an avid reader and enjoyer of cinema. I travel an occasionally for work but am generally quite sociable, and always up for a good chat, an activity, or a trip to the pub.

Yourself: I am looking for an easy going, tidy, flat mate. No gender preferences. Getting along well and mutual respect is a must, but I ultimately enjoy getting to know people I live with and making the house feel like a “home”.

Costs: The room costs 1000 per month. Rent is split 50/50 (2000 total). Bills range from ~100 to 200 per month. We cover all bills, including council tax, water, utilities, etc. Shared products (eg., toilet paper) and cleaning can also be arranged. There would also be a one-time “changeover” fee of split with the current tenant (250 per person), in addition to a deposit of 1152.
