Description
We're looking for a flatmate to replace me in a quiet, well-kept 2-bed 2-bath flat situated just off the River Lea and surrounded by gorgeous parks and greenery. The room is available now and we're looking to get someone settled in asap, ideally around 1 May. I'm leaving due to my visa ending, and would stay for longer if I could!
The room is a good-sized double with its own en-suite bathroom, and comes furnished with an open wardrobe, bed, mattress, and bedside table. There's plenty of room underneath the bed for storage as well. A desk and chair is also currently in the room that I'm looking to sell, but if you're interested, I'd be happy to negotiate!
The flat itself is in a well-maintained building with a secure coded entry, lift access, in-unit washer and dryer, walk-out balcony, and a neighbourly community of surrounding apartments. The shared living space is very much a blank canvas, so it's perfect for someone who loves interior decorating.
It's all-electric (no gas), and bills (council tax, electricity, water, and gigabit internet) are paid separately. Utility bills come out to roughly around £200 to £250 a month each, depending on seasonal usage. Energy bills are on a fixed tariff, so we're not prone to price hikes from political instability.
It's a serene slice of Hackney, and yet the Clapton Overground station is just a 10–15 minute walk, keeping you well-connected to the rest of the city. Popular places like Broadway Market are a 20-minute bike ride away, and we're very well connected with Hackney's great cycling infrastructure.
You'd be living with my flatmate Wai. He works from home, keeps to himself but communicates well, super chill, always happy for a chat but equally happy to enjoy peace and quiet. He's 26 years old (turning 27 this year), works in local government, and is usually head deep in either his day job or creative endeavours in the evening.
The ideal flatmate is easy and enjoyable to share a space with; we're not after a best friend, rather someone who's chilled, tidy, and considerate. Keeping shared areas clean and organised is expected and a non-negotiable, as is open communication and an open mind. We tend to get on well with those with a creative streak, although by no means does this mean you need to work in a creative field.
If you're interested, feel free to reach out, and I can pass on Wai's number to organise viewings, either in-person or virtually.
