Description
Available from 29 December 2024 - 30 May 2025 (with option to extend).
Sorry no 'working from home' please, (your work or study will need to be from another location.)
You will ideally be vegetarian or vegan.
A beautiful and stylish home refurbished in Victorian designer 'William Morris' style with a large tranquil secluded woodland garden.
Located on Evering Road, a historic and 'famous' east end street you'll be within walking distance to fantastic restaurants, cafes, bars, an art deco cinema and a fringe theatre. The street even has its own insta page and a famous pop star living directly opposite.
The surrounding area of Hackney has a very diverse and vibrant community. When walking around you will likely see neighbours from all over the world - West Indies, Turkey, India, Romania and many more.
We're also situated very close to beautiful wide open spaces, nature, parks and a wetlands nature reserve only 5 mins away.
Rent; £995 a month, (plus bills).
The room has plenty of natural light that streams in through large bay windows. The room has high ceilings and a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, small writing desk and sofa. You will share the kitchen and bathroom.
Wifi / broadband included.
I am a live-in owner who runs a dog walking business. I am well travelled around the world. I love meeting like minded, environmentally conscious and open minded people so I hope you'll be up for a few shared meals together during your stay.
Transport Links:
TRAINS: Clapton train station is only a 3 minute walk away and regular trains run to central London’s Liverpool Street station (journey time only 12 mins).
BUS: There is a good bus network from Clapton Pond – a 5 minute walk away, where frequent buses depart for central London.
Parking and Traffic:
Free parking outside the flat at weekends.
On weekdays a parking permit is needed between 7-11am only.
What's in the Neighbourhood:
Disclaimer; You can easily live in Clapton without ever needing to leave the neighbourhood or even have any desire to. it has absolutely everything - culture, art, fascinating history, pubs, clubs, amazing food, cafes, running routes, parks, nature reserve, and closeby even an art deco cinema and outdoor heated Lido.
Going Out:
You're spoilt for choice. Clapton is 'the' place to be. The flat is a few minutes walk from the hugely popular Crooked Billet pub (with heated outdoor seating and ping pong tables) and the Princess of Wales pub (overlooking the river). We are also only a short walk to the popular Stoke Newington Church Street with all it’s cafes, bars restaurants and only a stones throw away is Dalston, the nightlife capital of London.
For foodies – a 2 mins walk to the popular Sodo restaurant (sourdough pizza), Two lovely local cafes are only 1 min walk away - Mosaic and Dialogue, which serve amazing brunches and barista coffee. 7 mins walk to the Saturday farmers market at the end of the road to enjoy a wide choice of delicious organic produce.
Nature:
For nature lovers the flat is very close to Springfield Park, (winner of a Green Flag Award for its outstanding natural beauty), Millfields Park, Hackney Downs and Hackney Marshes. The Lea Valley conservation area is also a 5 minute walk away - known for its beautiful wetlands wildlife and the river Lea - a perfect backdrop for a Sunday stroll or jog.
Yoga:
There are so many studios in the area! Nearest one is 2 mins walk at Blok and also at Core Clapton, a community hub (2 mins from flat).
You will be sharing with the owner - a friendly and chilled female who used to co-run a community cookery school in Hackney and is now working as a professional dog walker, and lives a conscious vegan lifestyle.
I could go on and on about how much the area has to offer, and other surprise elements including which famous pop star lives directly opposite the flat! but I'll save that for when you come to visit :-)
