Hi there,
Our former housemate has moved to Liverpool and we are looking for someone to join our quiet and peaceful household in Colliers Wood. The house is a 5 min walking distance from Colliers Wood Station and a 12 min walk to Tooting Broadway station. There's a massive Aldis, Sainsburys, Lidl and The Gym which is a 7-10 min walk from the house. There's also Tandem Shopping Centre and Priory retail park which are both a 10 min walking distance from the house. Bus stops, supermarkets, pubs etc all within a 10 min walking distance from the house.
We're ideally looking for a male housemate who is an easy going working professional. Someone who's tidy, responsible and considerate of the other tenants living in the house. You will be sharing with 2 other housemates( including myself). We're both working professionals and have busy work schedules but will still make the time for regular conversations in the dining area.
The rent of £700 a month is inclusive of Electric, Gas, Council tax and Water( There is a fair use policy included, see details below). This doesn't include a cleaner as the three of us will be taking turns to clean different areas of the house every three weeks( If you aren't too keen on cleaning yourself, an alternative will be discussed when we chat on video call). The broadband fee is an additional £10.
The deposit is 5 weeks rent upfront. The tenancy is subject to a referencing or background check conducted by a letting agency. The prospective tenant will need to be in full time employment for over 12 months and be able to pass the rent affordability test of 2.5x gross salary, so if the monthly rent is £700 per month x 12 x 2.5, minimum annual gross salary must be at least £21k. If you do not have a UK/Irish passport, you would require a ‘share code’ to prove your immigration status and have a valid UK bank account.
Fair use policy- Owing to the substantial increase in energy costs over the last couple of years, the landlord may levy an additional charge, the cost of which will be shared amongst the 3 tenants. This will only be enforced should the landlord deem the use of gas and electric as unreasonable. So far the landlord hasn't enforced the policy but it has been included to avoid abuse of the services.
The house is fully furnished with two fridges, an electric hob and an oven, a microwave, washing machine and a kettle. It also comes with a ton of storage space for your utensils, crockery and kitchen appliances. There's a shared kitchen and dining area and there's one bathroom and toilet in the house which is shared amongst the 3 tenants.
The room is furnished with a bed, a desk and chair, a wardrobe and and a chest of draws. It also comes with adequate storage.
