Description
Double room in 2nd floor flat currently with one male tenant and my cat Norman.
The room is 4x4m, has a double bed, bedside table, vertical shelving unit, horizontal shelving unit, clothes rack, 2 chairs, a desk and a lamp. Things do not have to stay in the room and can be removed if desired. It gets a fair amount of sun from about 11am-6pm (presuming there is some obviously), and there's hyperoptic 1GB ultra fibre.
Flat has all the normal things you'd probably expect from a flat: bathroom (shower cubicle, no bath), kitchen with the usual appliances (no dishwasher) and a storage room which houses various useful things (tools and gadgets, cleaning equipment, bits of generic storage items {suitcases and the like}). The living room has a TV (I know, crazy), sofabed (for guests, and general living room furniture. It has also been used by all previous housemates for drying clothes as there is no garden.
The building is old and that is evident by it being, well, old -but I do keep on top of making sure the flat stays in shape when I get time.
The neighbours are well behaved and not a nuisance with noise or late night screaming thrash drum stampede trumpet shenanigans.
There is a council bike hangar on the road but it costs £66 p/a and has a big waiting list, so I keep my bike in the kitchen, which if you cycle you are more than welcome to do.
There are good transport connections immediately outside the property, Crofton Park station which goes up to Elephant and King's Cross, the bus stop for N171/172/122, Brockley Station / Honor Oak Station are a 10 minute walk (overground line), and the P4 is also very close. A walk to Ladywell also gets you direct to Charing Cross.
About me: I work at a university and am there a fair amount of the week. I spend the rest of my time either at the gym, baking, or generally studying something. I have a partner, but they have their own place and we like our own spaces. We do spend time at each others. I've lived here a fair while, and the landlord has been very good throughout this time (just has to be told of issues and will get things sorted).
Norman is the cat. He is a hairy one at that. If you have bad allergies this is not something you could cope with at all. He does not have to be let into your bedroom if you don't want him to be in there, but he will try his luck if you leave the door open. He does have access to the rest of the flat. A pet is welcome but only cats or smaller (i. e. a guinea pig, no dogs)
The flat would best suited to someone that considers themselves mature; consciously aware of social space, understanding of cleaning communal places, and respectable of others belongings. And like most shares, this cannot be iterated enough. It would also be best suited to someone who does not work from home 5 days a week.
The room is not being offered for couples, but there is obviously no reason why partners/friends/parents etc. cannot visit and stay a few days etc. However, the offer will be revoked if a couple attempt to circumvent this.
Rent is £790pcm all bills/council tax included, payable on the 24th of every month. As the room is available on an off-date, rent would be divided by the days left in the month until the next cycle.
Congratulations on getting to the end of my essay.
