About the flat:
Medium sized room available in a cozy, creative, shared flat in Crouch End. It's a cute, well decorated first floor, 3 bedroom, split level flat with your room upstairs sharing a bathroom with bath and shower with 1 person. Your room is carpeted, has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and provides a lovely light in the mornings through the large east facing window.
Downstairs is another bedroom and bathroom, a small but mightily equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washer-dryer and then the living room which is spacious and airy with loads of natural light, pale wood floors, tv, record player, bookcase etc. We have a road opposite which means we get the sunsetting straight out of our living room window. There is a bit of outside space which we’ve had bbq’s in during summer. It’s a safe building with the entrance down the laneway and around the corner away from the quiet road.
We're house-proud and like to keep it nice, but realistic about the flow of clutter and periodical decluttering that comes with busy lives and shared spaces.
About us:
We have lived together a year and become good friends. We love to hang out, go out, and chill both together and separately. We're both creative, artistic people, Matt (30) is a music teacher and singer and Josh (37) is a theatre producer and writer. We enjoy art and the arts, cooking, restaurants, gigs, reading, movies... All the usual semi bohemian millennial pursuits.
We like to think of our flat as a grown up home shared by like minded adults. Even though we're both mad busy with work and socialising, we do make time to share weekend coffees, the odd dinner, pub trips and have got to know each others friends. We're hoping our next flatmate will join in this vibe and expand the family!
About you:
We are looking for someone who is up for finding a rhythm that balances joining in with flat life as well as having their own space and doing their own thing some of the time. Hopefully you're an experienced house sharer who can be direct about your needs so we all avoid feuds and frustrations. We're open to people from all walks of life, although we don't want to share with anyone who is socially or politically conservative, racist, queerphobic or hateful in any way. As your room is not really big enough to comfortably house a desk, we’d prefer someone who doesn’t work from home full time, as this would necessarily mean you occupying the communal space all week. Occasional wfh days no problem at all!
About the location
GREAT location, 3 min walk from Hornsey station, or 15 mins walk to Piccadilly line, and 10 mins stroll into the bougie crouch end high street, where endless cafes, wine bars and fancy boutiques await! Very close to a massive Sainsbury's and several nice pubs, Ally Pally is a 15 mins walk away. You can get to Oxford Circus in 25 mins. Very chill neighbors and a nice landlord who looks after us and is very attentive with repairs etc
