Cosy single room in friendly SE19 home

A cosy furnished single room is available from 10 October in our friendly three-storey family home on a quiet private road in SE19.

The room is on the top floor and includes a single bed with useful under-bed storage, a desk and a chest of drawers. The rent is £600 per calendar month, including all bills and superfast internet. The council tax band is E.

You would be sharing with me and my 19-year-old son, who works and attends college and is often out at the gym. My younger son is away at school but visits from time to time. I work from home, so the room would suit someone who works or studies away from the house rather than someone who works from home.

This is a warm, relaxed family home with the usual rhythms of family life. We are looking for someone friendly, considerate and easy-going who cleans up after themselves and is comfortable sharing a lived-in home.

A cleaner will come twice a month to clean the communal areas, although everyone is expected to keep shared spaces tidy between visits. The room will be deep-cleaned before move-in.

We have four cats. They generally stay in the living room and have access to the garden through a cat flap; only one, Nala, is allowed elsewhere in the house. They are normally fed outside, except in heavy rain, so you should be comfortable living with cats even though they will not be allowed in your room.

There is a private parking space in front of the house, additional guest parking and a communal shed where a bike and other items can be stored. The neighbours are lovely and friendly.

Occasional guests are welcome with advance notice. Vaping is fine, but smoking is not permitted. We are looking for a working lodger who will enjoy a friendly household while also valuing privacy, consideration and a peaceful home.
