Description
Hi
I am a live in landlady and shared harmoniously with my last flatmate for 4 years, the previous flatmate for 2 years, both moved out to live with partners :=).
I’m Australian, 44, and have an Aussie female partner who comes over here and there but mostly Sat and Sun nights. I have lived in London 15 years. I'm pretty boring and responsible type - working for a bank. We have to be in the office at least 3-4 days a week.
This is a peaceful environment to come home and relax. I'm looking for someone relaxed, friendly, considerate and in general happy person. Someone who cleans up after themselves and keeps their room tidy too. Animal lover is a must.
As the flat is quite cosy, I am looking for someone very compatible with the situation I can offer. This sounds very prescriptive, I am just looking for an excellent fit flatmate.
- Sausage dog Sasha and cat Ginny lives here – person needs to be animal lover and happy to feed cat when I am away. Dog goes to a friend so no need to take care of her if I am on holiday. If you work from home or have days off Monday, Tuesday, Wed, and/or Thursday this is fine and a plus. Dog goes to daycare two days a week but would be nice if she can stay home 1 day with flatmate for company.
- I work really hard in investment, so a generally peaceful and quiet flat is important especially after 8:30pm.
- Because of my work, I don’t have loads of bandwidth to listen to flatmate tell me all about their day. I am friendly and warm, but understand people need to decompress when home.
- It would be great to have someone who’s lifestyle or job takes them out of the house for either the day or the night at weekends. At the weekend we tend to be out for at least 3 hours daily walking the dog.
- I go to the office 3-4 days per week and leave the house at 7:15. I would love to find a flatmate who does not get ready for work at the same time as me – I want to get ready in peace lol. Would be great if you wake up after I leave the house. Maybe you are a student or just start later.
- Ideally, I find someone who is not super heavy duty on the kitchen with loads of cooking going on all the time and stuff to store – this is just because I only have a few dedicated shelves in cupboard and fridge to spare. I would rather you drank my milk, used salt and spices etc than have duplicate basics filling up precious space if that makes sense. Also my dog’s butternut food takes up heaps of space in the freezer, so not too much to offer there.
- If you are still interested please just drop me a line and tell me a bit about yourself and we can do a call afterwards.
What you get:
I can offer either, 1 year full time potential to extend if working well, Mon-Fri, or shorter term.
I have a double room, with built in wardrobe, bed and chest of drawers. As we are built into a hillside, there is not loads of natural light, but the bedroom is very quiet and insulated from cold and heat - and we never hear parties.
Fortnightly cleaner to come and clean whole flat.
.
There is a new Daikin air conditioner in the living area which has been amazing with the heat waves.
I don't mind the odd female guest/s whether overnight or for social dinner/lunch.
The flat has a beach house feel. It has skylights in the living room and kitchen and is bright even on overcast days. The glass doors fold back and open the living room right up to the garden.
The garden is lovely, with squirrels jumping around and no houses to the side or behind. It feels like you are in a woodland. Although I am not a party girl, the garden is too nice in summer not to have friends over for the odd summer afternoon tea 😊
There is secure storage for a bicycle inside the building, off-street free parking
Broadband, Sky, Netflix etc
3 minutes walk to the Crystal Palace Triangle – 3 high streets with numerous cafes, restaurants, boutiques, large Sainsbury's.
Under 10 minute walk to Gipsy Hill and Crystal Palace Stations going to Victoria, London Bridge, Shoreditch in around 26 minutes. Many buses.
Crystal Palace is a beautiful leafy, dynamic area with strong community. It is especially LGBTQ friendly. It is the highest point in London and great views.
