Description
Hey there!
First, let us tell you a bit about the flat:
- It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom flat with a large kitchen/living area, open plan, and with decent storage space
- It's in a large development of flats inside an old cotton mill, behind a private gate. There is a nice shared outdoor space with both a bike shed and bike racks
- The flat is located on the first floor (there is a lift in the building) and it's west facing, so we get a lot of natural light and evening sunset
- There is parking that can be negotiated with the building managers for an extra fee
- It's a private rental scheme - the landlord owns the whole building and there's a maintenance company that quickly fixes any issues
- Shacklewell Lane is a short walk to Dalston Kingsland, lots of buses go down Kingsland Road. Dalston Kingsland overground is 2 stops from the Victoria Line, and there is also Hackney Downs overground station which goes straight to Liverpool Street
- Finally, there is an nice park, Hackney Downs, 2 min walk from the flat
Now, about the room for rent:
- It's a large double room with two high windows that comes furnished (our flatmate, who's moving back home, is willing to sell most of his furtniture)
- It has its separate bathroom just across the hallway
- Rent is £1,122 pcm and bills are around £145 each month (includes water, electricity & gas, wifi, council tax and a cleaner that comes twice a month, which we're keen to keep as we like our place to stay clean)
- There is a deposit to be paid
- The move-in date is after January 18, 2025
Finally, a bit about us:
We're a couple who moved to London about four years ago after living for a while in New Zealand and the US. I'm from Switzerland, I work for a London-based climate tech startup in the carbon market as an Account Manager. I’m a foodie and enjoy climbing and most outdoor activities. Will is a Producer in the ski industry from New Zealand. He’s a big music and movie fan, and photographer on the side. I work from home 2 days a week and Will occasionally.
We share a passion for the outdoors, travelling and cooking while trying to live a sustainable lifestyle as much as we can.
During the week, we work long hours, so we tend to do some type of exercise and cook at home, play music and enjoy movie nights (we have a small but mighty projector which you'd be free to use :). We're usually out on weekends, seeing friends and exploring the city, if not travelling abroad.
We're looking for someone with whom we can feel comfortable hanging around the house. We like to share meals now and then and have friends over once in a while. Our party days are coming to an end, so we keep it pretty chill :)
Reach out if you're interested and let us know a bit about yourself!
Cheers,
Vic and Will
