Description

We are 3 creative, down to earth, friendly, LGBTQI+ / allies looking for a male/masc identifying person for a bright, very large double room in our lovely house in Dalston.

Viewings are to be held in the last week of October. Move in date will be Mid-November

***please read full ad about the room as one of us is immunocompromised so there are certain things we do here for hygiene and safety, some details are below... When you message, please include the word "pineapple" at the start of your message so we know you've taken in all this info!***

THE HOUSE
The house has a large kitchen/living room with a table, chairs, tv, and sofa, a lean-to off the back for bike storage, and a small garden with outdoor seating and plants.
There are 4 bedrooms, two on the first floor and two on the second, two bathrooms; one upstairs with shower over bath and toilet and one downstairs with shower over bath and a separate toilet. The house has wooden floors except in the kitchen and bathrooms which are tiled.

LOCATION
The house is located back from a main road, and is 3 minutes walk from Dalston Junction Station, 5 minutes from Dalston Kingsland Station, as well as near to many bus routes.
There is an Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Coop and Tesco express within 5 minutes of the house, as well as the market, many local shops and huge variety of restaurants. We are also a couple of minutes from Dalston Curve Garden, and about 15 minutes walk from Londonfields Park with it’s lido,
so the location is fantastic.

THE ROOM
The room is furnished with a double bed and mattress, and clothes storage. It is large, bright and airy with a huge window and is on the first floor.

The rent is £695.00 per calendar month, the deposit is £695.00 to be paid by the move in day.

THE BILLS
Bills are on top and work out as follows on average:
Council tax (band D) and water rates £60.00 per month.
Broadband and electricity come to around £20 each per month so £40 for both of them per month but they are paid via a quarterly bill.
Gas for cooking and central heating is £80 ( £20 from each of us ) and lasts for about a month in the winter. In the summer reduces to about £40 a month for cooking and hot water.
So a rough total per month is between £120 - £140 per month for all bills.

THE HOUSEMATES
The existing housemates are two cis females, and one cis male who have lived together for some time now. We all have individual interests and social lives outside the house; but also do like to hang out together over a house dinner now and again, or when all in the kitchen.
The vibe in the house is a relaxed, open and comfortable one, we all communicate and get on well.

We all take on our fair share of the household chores and responsibilities but do not feel the need for rotas or schedules for this. We take turns paying the bills and everyone makes prompt payments over to the bill payer. We also split the costs of cleaning products but we don’t buy food together, only when we share a house dinner.

We are two omnivores and one pescatarian.

We enjoy having a laugh together, lots of banter, sometimes maybe watch a film together or play a board game. The house is a very much a home and we would love to welcome someone who would fit nicely into the dynamic we have here.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Miriam, 43, cis female she/her:
“This year I was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune condition for which I need to be on medications that suppress my immune system leaving me very vulnerable to infection from bacteria, viruses and fungal infections. Due to this we have certain procedures in the house that we all need to very kindly keep to with regards to hygiene and food safety, as well as minimising the risk of bringing any germs into the house.
We take off our outdoor shoes at the front door, and wash our hands well when returning to the house, keep all surfaces clean, and when feeling under the weather or unwell let everyone know so that I can use the shared spaces at a different time and keep myself safe by wearing a mask. In the aftermath of Covid these are things that you may be familiar with already.
This also means that guests to the house need to be feeling well when they visit, as unfortunately the slightest cold or bug could result in my hospitalisation and make me very unwell for a long time. I really appreciate all of the measures that my current household make in order for me to feel safe and at ease in my home and understand that these things are a bit more than the usual so please do ask any questions you have. I appreciate your understanding in advance and hope that this does not deter anyone from being interested in coming to see our home.
My chronic illnesses and conditions mean that I am in the house a lot, and I do also need to rest a lot.

I am a people person, friendly, relaxed and love to learn about new things and meet new people.
I really enjoy cooking especially with and for others, going for walks in nature, cycling, climbing, doing a jigsaw, painting, drawing, all things art, and having good chats when I am able. I make sure that I still contribute to the house as much as I can, and try to limit any effects my poor health has on those around me.”

Meg, 33, she/ her
I’m a kind and chilled person. I’m into vintage, music, art, reading, and film. I’m a freelance writer and baker, so there may be the occasional baked good to sample. I’m pretty easygoing and I love a good yap.

Jasey, 53, he/him
I’ve been living here for a number of years and as stated earlier, the place definitely has a homely feel. I work from home as a chauffeur controller and graphic designer so am around most of the time when working. I’m a keen cyclist, walker and Hackney parks enthusiast and will occasionally grace the back garden with my yoga mat.
