Description
Looking to replace myself in a 4 bedroom maisonette based a stones throw from central Dalston (Parkholme Road), and find another person to fit in with a wonderful house share of 3 others.
I’ve lived here for 3 years and absolutely loved it. It’s just the best location, the best flat and the best housemates. I’m only moving out as I’m moving in with my sister. I will really miss it!
We are looking for a housemate in their late 20s to 30s. Unfortunately no pets or couples.
FYI this isn’t a party house anymore, we’re all in our 30’s and now value downtime in the house more than big nights out.
If you’re interested obviously reach out, but do provide some info about yourself (you’re not going to get a reply if it’s a “hey I’m interested, when you free?” Message with no further info as last time we advertised a room it got 300 messages in 2 days)
We’re looking to do viewings soon (from 15th July) in the evenings / weekends when everyone’s in, I’m moving out 28th July.
About the room:
*Garden facing so it’s peaceful and quiet. Bursting with natural light. It’s real oasis away from busy Dalston
*Amazing storage. There’s also loads of communal storage room in the rest of the house.
*Unfurnished, that being said happy to offer bed, mattress, desk, chair & chest drawers for small fee as I do not require these items.
* There’s 2 bathrooms in the house
House Details:
* The house is “lived in” and comes with quirks but that keeps the rent low for the area
* Big bright living room with two sofas and a dining table and chairs
* Desk/office area on the landing - so coupled with the above you’ll have plenty of room to WFH if you are (two of the housemates are out 5 days a week for work)
* Big communal storage area/room upstairs to chuck suitcases etc in
* Separate kitchen (now has checkerboard flooring like the bathroom)
* 2 bathrooms each with a shower and bath - so no waiting if someone’s using one or the other
* 1 big south facing garden that is shared with 2 other flats and gets sunlight the entire day - green fingered people very welcome.
* Neighbours are great, all in their early 30’s. The house is split into 3x flats (us and two couples, one in each flat - both are absolutely lovely and we’ve had garden drinks and BBQs with them).
* Bike storage in the entrance corridor.
* The flat itself is a 5 minute walk to both Dalston overground stations, and you’re spoilt for pubs in the area, or a short (5-10) walk the other way to Hackney and Broadway market, with regular buses on Kingsland Road to Shoreditch and Highbury Islington.
House mates:
* Claud, 31, works from home two days a week for an analysis company, has a love for European holidays and is the person you go to for an end of day debrief - she’s a really good ear and will leave you feeling better (always!)
* Molly, 30, is an Australian interior designer who is friendly calm and all together wholesome individual.
* Rob, 32, is an Irish physiotherapist who loves cooking and is always down for a chat in the living room with a hilarious sense of dry humour.
Money details below:
* Rent = £875 pcm
* Council Tax = £47.75 per person (Band E)
* Gas and Electricity = £50 per person a month (we’ve been overpaying in the summer months to help with the winter, so you’ll benefit from these payments if you take the place)
* Internet = £16.66 pcm
* Cleaner = £25 pcm who visits every fortnight
* Deposit is I think 4/5 weeks of rent for yourself (so £900-ish?)
* Everything else is put on splitwise, so if you buy laundry tablets, dishwasher, soap, and other bits for the flat, everyone pays their share.
