✨ Room in Brand New Dalston Flat – Move in Oct 17 ✨

Hey, we’re David and Vondo. We’ve just put down a holding deposit on a gorgeous new flat in Dalston and are looking for the right person to join us.

A bit about us:

We’ve been good friends since secondary school (15+ years).

David works in Film & TV for a big live broadcaster, often away for long shoots around the world.

Vondo is a musician who splits time between the studio and working from home – never at late hours in the house, not loud nor disruptive. He also freelances in social media marketing & mentoring for charities. He’s big on decor and making a place feel like a home.

We’re both easygoing, serious about our careers but like to have a laugh. we love gigs, festivals, film, books , and always hunting down new experiences.

The vibe at home is chilled, clean, and creative. Music’s on in the house but never anti-social hours. We’re not party people (Vondo’s tee-total, David drinks now and then), though we’re fine with the occasional guest and having friends round from time to time — we’re big on open communication and keeping things easy. Quiet time is important to us both also!

The flat itself:

First floor of a newly refurbished building.

Flat will come furnished with bed, chest of draws, wardrobe etc - no pictures as of yet but will upload them one we've got them!

Super high ceilings, modern finishes, loads of light.

All brand new appliances: washing machine, oven, dishwasher, sofa, dining table, wardrobes & drawers in each room. No outdoor space but we’re looking into a tumble dryer.

Great sound & heat insulation, no shared walls with neighbours, barely any noise from outside or between rooms.

About the landlords (Clarence Estates):

They own and manage the whole building (all the units inside are theirs).

They’ve been housing people in Hackney for over 20 years and their reputation is built on tenant retention, not ridiculously high rents. That’s why the rent is fair for such a new property in this part of town.

Tenants regularly stay with them for multiple years. They’re local, responsive, and look after things quickly.

Vondo’s known Stephen & Morris from Clarence Estates for over a year already and can vouch they’re straight-up, fair people.

Money & move-in:

Rent: £1,000 per month (plus bills).

Bills: around £150pp/month. Council tax band B.

Deposit: £1,000 each minus holding deposit.

Holding deposit: £230 – we’ve paid it already, so you’d pay your portion to us so we know you’re serious. The security deposit will go to the landlord before we move in and will be held in a protected scheme.

Move-in date: October 17th.

Referencing required with the landlord. Students welcome. If you’re not a UK citizen, no problem — you just need to show the landlord proof of right to rent in the UK along with standard referencing. (Only thing to note: if you need a guarantor, it must be UK-based. They can’t accept overseas guarantors.)

We’re set on finding the right person. We’re hoping to find someone who’s friendly, clean, respectful, and ideally has their own creative career or passions — though that’s absolutely not essential. Mostly, we just want someone clean & easygoing who’ll fit into the vibe of the place and bring their own flavour to it.
