Description
The Vibe:
We’ve created a chill, authentic, considerate, communicative, creative, conscious, fun & free home. We want to keep it this way so it’s important you can clean up after yourself, respect boundaries and communicate with good faith and emotional maturity if/when issues arise to resolve conflict in a healthy and constructive manner <3
We all have our own lives outside of the house (well, apart from our resident housebound babe) but at home we've created a supportive community with healthy friendships amongst ourselves. We're all trauma informed, neurodiverse ambiverts with fluctuating social batteries. When we're not enjoying our peace and solitude alone we like to go charity shop shopping, have impromptu fashion shows, hang out in the kitchen, binge Netflix and chat till the early hours, too.
The room:
The room is huge and has great light thanks to the two windows. It comes furnished with a bed, wardrobe, clothes rail, kallax, and bedside table. The bathroom, with shower over the bath, is only shared with one other person. Available from 25th October, rent is due on the 12th. £920 pcm.
The Flat:
It’s a really nice 5 bed flat with all the nice normal house fixtures, but with all the rooms coming off the open-plan kitchen and living space it has an open feel to it. We have 4 bathrooms in total for 5 people, so there’s no awkward bathroom waits/battles.
The People:
Laure (26) She/Her: French/Burundian, retail Manager, often out social butterflying, loves thrift shopping a lot, loves a good deep convo, but also some good "headphones time" listening to music or youtube vidéos.
Lilly-Beth (34) They/She: Artist, Writer & Activist, former corporate babe (it's a long story). Proudly disabled, wheelchair user, subscribing to the social model of disability. Currently housebound and fighting all the broken systems just to survive, but still somehow able to keep creating and producing. If you’re not comfortable around people with disabilities and chronic illness, this flat won’t be for you as they’re quite literally home all the time (sozzles).
Sam (he/him) (28): Works as a nurse. When he’s not at work, he’s usually catching up on pop culture, browsing charity shops, or heading out for a walk. He’s always up for a drink and has a real soft spot for trash TV. At home, he keeps a growing collection of houseplants alive (somehow), and they’re thriving—mostly
Alberto (34): secondary school teacher. Really enjoys the area and walking around Hackney and Tower Hamlets. He loves nature and the parks around the house.
Kate (25): queer editor and writer. Moving out, and really sad about it! Can't recommend the room and the flat enough
Obviously we want to keep everybody comfortable around each other and the flat vibes stress free, so somebody anti-racist, comfortable in neurodiverse spaces, queer friendly and feminist would be an ideal fit.
Accessibility: It's a second floor flat with two flights of stairs, so not suitable for anyone else with severe mobility issues or another wheelchair user, unfortunately. For any other accessibility questions or queries, drop us a message and we’ll happily answer
Location: it’s 6 minutes from Dalston Junction and Haggerston station and also along the 76, 149, 242 and 243 bus routes.
It's a joint tenancy with 4 months left and will renew in February.
