Description
Hello! A room is becoming available in our bright, homely Dalston flat from 1st December (potentially sooner) and we're looking for a new flatmate to move in. The room is a medium-sized double and you would be sharing the bathroom with one other person. The flat has a spacious kitchen-diner, a large balcony with a good view and the building is just over 10 years old so it's very modern, warm and well insulated. The building has a concierge and a gym for residents. There is also a roof terrace in the building – although it's been closed for a while for some maintenance we're hoping it'll be back in action soon.
Rent is £944 per month, and bills usually come to about £130pp per month. We have been told the rent will increase by 5% in February so this will be £990 from then.
The flat is really close to both Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland stations, as well as multiple bus routes. London Fields is around a 15-minute walk, and Clissold Park is around 30 minutes away. All the shops, bars and restaurants of Dalston are around five minutes away from the flat and we're also in a great location to reach other areas like De Beauvoir, Stoke Newington, Hackney and Hackney Wick.
About us: the current housemates are Cristina and Jane, both 34 years old. Jane works in tech and usually goes into the office a couple of days a week, working from home the rest of the time. She's into spending time with friends, trying to get good at basketball, travelling, eating good food, exploring London and reading. Cristina works for a design agency and works mostly from the office. She likes socialising, going to the cinema, cooking and hosting friends.
We get on well and the flat feels very much like a home, so it's important to us that our new flatmate also wants to contribute to this vibe. We both have our own friends and lives outside of the flat, but we get on really well and often spend time together in the evenings after work, watching a show or having dinner together. This isn't a party house but we'll often have dinners or drinks on the balcony with friends, always being considerate enough to check in with each other first and to extend the invite.
Keeping the flat tidy, calm and clean is important to us, so we're looking for someone who's going to contribute to the cleaning, be open to communicating if anything is going on and is going to be respectful of other people's space and schedules. Ultimately though we're both pretty laid back and looking for someone who can contribute to the friendly, homely vibe.
We're looking for someone:
- over 30
- in full time employment
- any gender
- kind, respectful and used to sharing flats
- looking for a long-term place to live
