Description
We have a large double room in our lovely De Beauvoir mews home, available 4th April, later move date is flexible. The house is a really good size, with three bedrooms, a large living room, separate kitchen-diner and gorgeous south-facing patio garden, which is perfect for BBQs. There is also a separate storage room, which is great for stashing bikes/tents etc.
The mews is gated, and off the main road, so is very quiet and secure.
The room itself is unfurnished but has a built-in wardrobe with full-length mirrors. The bathroom is shared with just one other flatmate, and there's a separate toilet downstairs for guests.
The rest of the house has been furnished by us, although there is plenty of space for additional furniture etc. if required.
As for us, we're in our late 30s: one male who works in photo post-production, and one female working in media. We're (normally!) fairly busy people with different schedules, but we do enjoy a glass of wine, a few cocktails and a film. Although social, we are by no means a party house and would be looking for a liked-minded individual to join us. We like to keep our house tidy and clean, but are not OCD about it. We also have a cleaner that comes twice a month.
Location-wise, the house is situated at the heart of the De Beauvoir neighbourhood. We're a 10-minute walk to Haggerston and Dalston overgrounds, and there are also a ton of buses from Essex Rd, Southgate Rd and Kingsland Rd taking you towards the City, London town, Liverpool St, Islington/Angel and Stokey. We are also a short walk from the canal, which takes you to Islington, Broadway Market, Victoria Park and Hackney.
The mews has several awesome pubs within a few minutes walk (Scolts Head, De Beauvoir Arms, Talbot, Rosemary Branch and etc.); two different delis at our doorstep, as well as Tesco and Sainsbury’s local shops, and plenty of restaurants close by.
The house is a real find - the photographs don't do it justice! You will be required to sign a lease and pay the usual estate agent fees. It will initially be a 6-month contract as our current flatmate is moving out early. Rent is £825 per calendar month, bills are approx £160/month each, plus £35/m for the cleaner.
