Description
Looking for a lovely single person as a new flat-mate. (Sorry no-couples).
The flat is a lovely modern apartment on 6th floor, with a very bright light-filled shared dual aspect living-room and fully equipped kitchen, with all the usuals (dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge-freezer etc), and a newly renovated bathroom, and a sun trap of a balcony, with amazing views across the City of London and better big blue space /sunset scapes. The flat is located directly opposite a park (with tennis courts, astro turf pitches, green spaces) & Shoreditch Park less than 5 mins walk.
Your room, is a large furnished double, with a very large double wardrobe, work-desk, comfy lux velvet love-seat & a UK queen doublebed. The room gets the sunlight in the morning and faces onto the side-road.
All bills are included (including Council Tax) and my lovely cleaner who comes every 2nd Saturday for 2 hours - which just makes for a happy and easy home.
De Beauvoir is a lovely neighbourhood, known for it's village-feel, nestled between the City, Shoreditch, Islington, Dalston and Haggerston, with everything all these spots offer. On our street are great pubs (De Beauvoir Arms, Rosemary Branch) multiple cafes, including the award winning De Beauvoir Deli & their Cafe opposite. There are two great local food stores, inc DB Wholefoods, with organic food, fresh meat, veg, and any store cupboard ingredient you might think of, plus there is a Tesco's and dry-cleaners next door. The area is located by Regents Canal, good for walks incl. to Victoria Park, Islington or Kings Cross & for eating at the renowned Towpath Cafe. There are a tonne of other great restaurants, wine bars, pubs all within a 15 mins walk.
Transport: the flat is brilliantly located and frankly easy to get to almost anywhere, from the City, Canary Wharf, Liverpool Street, London Bridge, or East. There's a bus stop outside the flat (buses 141 & 76 all go via the City (10-15 mins), onto London Bridge or Waterloo (via St Pauls and Fleet St) and are v. frequent, every few minutes. Buses connect you to every tube line from Old Street (Northern), Moorgate (Elisabeth, Hamm & City, Circle) or Bank (for the Central-line). There is a secure bike-shed and cycle routes. Haggerston overground is a 10-minute walk.
A little bit about me, grew up in London and lucky enough to have a strong network of family and friends here, who I see regularly. I work in peacebuilding so have had the privilege to live and work across the globe, which I think makes me a fairly easy-going person. I'm caring and sociable and interested in others. At the weekends I row so you'll have the flat to yourself most weekend-mornings . I travel for work, at least once a month. Like most folk, I'm out at least two nights in the week and hopefully at least one night each weekend.
You: I'm looking for a flatmate and not a lodger, someone who wants to share a home, aged 35+, just because of life-styles, I am looking for a professional, ideally someone who works most of their time from their office and someone who is single, only because the flat isn't big enough to be sharing with a couple. My current flatmate has just bought a house hence the room becoming free.
Other stuff: there is no parking.
If you're interested pls send me a quick email about yourself (pls incl your age, working arrangements, interests, date you'd like to move in & why you're looking for a new home) I won't be able to reply to everyone (sorry) and will update the ad with common queries, so pls check-back.
I'm hoping to host 'open-days' to show individuals the flat and to 'meet' over a tea. Probably an afternoon at the weekend & possibly mid-week.
Finding the 'right' person is the most important thing to this search and there maybe some flex on the moving in date.
