Description
ME
- Mike, 41 in number, 34 in spirit
- American transplant (sorry)
- Clean and tidy (more than most girls)
- Out a lot: office 5 days a week, then usually a pub/event/thing after. Lots of energy, somewhere to put it
- I cook many nights and like to share. Roast chicken (and hummus) is a flex.
YOU
- A friend, not just a person who pays rent -- easily the most important characteristic -- while I don't need a best friend, life is too short to live with people you don't enjoy and look forward to seeing
- Work in the office most or all days - it's a home, not a co-working space
- Open to sharing meals
- Not turning up with a van of furniture
- Have your own friends and your own life - but inclusive
- Easygoing about guests — happy to host each other's visitors when one of us is away
- 30–45, male or female. No couples, no smokers, no pets (though obv dogs are the best)
THE PLACE
- A calm, plant- and candle-filled 2-bed with one bathroom
- Your room's the cosier of the two and comes furnished - enough storage to live, not quite enough to hoard (furniture is the landlord's but might be negotiable)
- Fairly offline home. There's a projector (only used for occasional movie nights), but the stereo's always going - bring your records and CDs, day or night
THE LOCATION (the best part aside from the hummus)
- Heart of De Beauvoir, one block from Sweet Thursday, the De Beauvoir Arms and the De Beauvoir Deli
- Coffee shops, pubs and the Regent's Canal on the doorstep - quiet and pretty, but a short walk to Dalston when you want noise, and ~20 mins to London Fields
- Buses straight to Waterloo and London Bridge across the street; Haggerston Overground a short walk
THE LOGISTICS
- Rent: £1,100 pcm + ~£200 bills (including council tax)
- Deposit: one month's rent (£1,100)
- Open to shorter stays (2–3 months) but ideally something longer-term
- Available now - but I'm not rushing. The right fit matters more than a fast fill, and I think that patience pays off for both of us
