DOUBLE ROOM IN DE BEAUVOIR
Tl; dr:
Available: mid August onwards
Rent: £1515 pcm
Bills: c. £150 pcm
Housemates: Grace, 33, lawyer, will want to make you her friend. Sometimes Obie or Cooper, very cuddly dogs we occasionally dog sit.
Transport: 1 min walk to buses, 10 min walk to overground, 5 min bike ride to various tube stations
With great sadness I am leaving this spacious and renovated maisonette in the heart of De Beauvoir available for long term let from mid-August/early September.
The location is pretty unbeatable: the flat is located in the middle of the village, you can literally roll out of your bed into the deli, pub, grocers, and cafes and wine bars a plenty.
No tube stops in De Beauvoir are part of its charm: you can see the city skyline and walk in to central London in 30 minutes, but you feel far removed from the chaos of the city. There are buses right out the front door and within a 10 min walk that take you all over London. If you do need a tube, Haggerston is a ten minute walk, or Angel, Highbury Islington and Old Street are a five minute bike ride away.
The double room comfortably fits a king bed as well as a large wardrobe and plenty of other nooks for storage. It previously also had a desk but there is also a communal area with a shared desk to use. Happy to discuss selling the furniture in the room.
The flat is newly renovated, has lots of natural light (but triple glazed windows to block out all noise and keep the flat cozy in winter), and a huge kitchen and living area, so you feel at home without living on top of your flatmate.
You’ll be living with Grace, a lawyer in her mid 30s who is self described as “a delight” and is one of the last non-Antipodeans in De Beauvoir. You’re the right fit if you’re also a working professional in their early 30s, and enjoy a cheeky glass of wine, a tv show to watch together, and the occasional housemate dinner. Grace is a big fan of being friends with her flatmates and half her friend group are her ex flatmates.
You also have to be okay with sometimes sharing the space with a dog (but he is very cute, and around very infrequently for an evening or two).
The occasional dinner party and friends around very much encouraged, but big and regular parties less so: the energy in the house is calm and a place you can come home to and relax.
The rent comes to £1515 + roughly £150 for council tax and bills (including a cleaner who comes fortnightly).
Reach out if this sounds like it could be a good fit!
