5-10 minutes walk away
Description
Available on December 8th, this ground floor studio flat about a 8 minute walk from Peckham Rye station is up for grabs, as I’m leaving the UK.
The numbers:
£1300pcm rent
Council Tax Band A - I pay £75 a month with the single occupant discount
I think I average about £120 a month on top of that for power, water, and wifi (and that’s factoring in that I’m Australian so generous with using the heating).
£1500 deposit
Looking for a working professional, no couples. The grounds are pretty lush with plenty of quiet outdoor space to enjoy, and resident parking for those who have a vehicle as an added bonus. The area is quiet and relaxed, neighbours are predominantly young professionals - so if you’re looking for a party vibe this isn’t the flat for you.
Open to pets, the building allows cats and dogs and the landlady is easy going on that front too.
Comes partially furnished with a round table and chairs, wardrobe and chest of draws from the landlord, I’m open to selling the bookshelves to the incoming tenant, and as well as some other bits if there’s an interest. There are blackout curtains as well as sheer blinds in the main room, and a solid roll down blind in the kitchen so it’s nice and dark at night. There’s a washer/dryer combo machine in-unit, so this place really just checks all the boxes.
The landlady is absolutely wonderful - she’s responsive, helpful, genuinely caring and cannot recommend her more. It’s been so refreshing given the typical London renting experience. Neighbours are great as well, this is the first place in three years in London where I know and regularly chat with the people living around me!
Photos are a mix of mine and the previous tenant’s arrangement of the flat - the canopy bed and dark shelves are mine and the bed is a super king sized so don’t let that fool you into thinking this studio is a shoebox. I just sleep like a starfish.
Final note - there is a very friendly squirrel who is a regular visitor in the autumn and winter and will happily come and sit in the window and eat nuts from your hand. Her name is Pecco and ideally I’d love if someone could keep up the tradition of looking after the little miss! Also a frequent visitor is Fred the cat - he lives nearby and clocked that I work from home last year, so he comes and hangs out for a few hours every day while his owners are out. He’s an absolute love, and I say that as a lifelong dog person, so you’ll have a timeshare cat if you want one.
Would like to get this sorted ASAP as I'm prepping for transcontinental move, so serious enquiries only please. Thanks folks!
